That’s why sometimes I’ll be the only person in a room with a KN95 mask. I figure I’m bullet proof. I may get COVID but with my multiple vaccines and healthy lifestyle I’m unlikely to die from it. However there are people who are not bullet proof, like Powell and those at high risk who haven’t gotten vaccinated.

I suspect it may be a good idea to get both. An mRNA vaccine for the immunity from antibodies and something like J&J for T cells, etc.

It doesn't matter. It's been confirmed Powell died from complications of Covid-19. My Aunt has breast Cancer she caught a mild case of Covid last year before the vaccine was available. She recovered within a week and is still alive today and she's older than Powell. My sister's neighbor died last week from Covid she was 47 and spent two months in the hospital, she wasn't vaccinated but had no underlying conditions. Even though a vaccine is available we can't rely on that. Reliable treatments are needed as well.

Not sure your point. I was stating that he died from Covid. The fact that he was vaccinated was raised and I pointed out that he also had other issues which made him vulnerable to Covid notwithstanding his vaccine status.

He died from Covid. Simple as that. And effective treatments to accompany the vaccine is needed. That’s what will get us through this without losing more heroes.

if you had health complications like cancer, then that person's immune system is likely to be suppressed. it happened to Herman Cain last year, he had cancer too. (granted, the vaccine hadn't comeout yet) i wonder if this is really advisable to give vaccines to people with questionable health history issues like Cancer.

My point was it doesn't really matter. The Vaccine doesn't prevent Covid. The idea behind the Vaccine is to lessen the likely hood of severe illness and or death from Covid which in many cases it doesn't.

Would you like to define "many"?

Or better yet would you like to present the stats showing that you are just as likely to doe of Covid no matter your vaccine status. Like your post implies.

Reports are he also had Parkinson’s.

The cancer of the blood thing is probably what did him in in conjunction with the complications from Covid. From what I understand, most of the elderly deaths from Covid are the results of some type of compromised lung function.

For a vaccine to be viable, a person has to have a reasonably functional immune system.

Colin Powell did not.

By the way, I will be 75 in February, I have had Covid, both shots, and I will get the booster. But then, I am in pretty good shape.
