Thank you Exchquer for getting this thread back on track . I also want to thank you for participating in all of us getting along in the Arkansas forum . Your kindness is shinning through as always .

There seems to be a couple of weeds in the garden that still need to be pulled and over time I am sure they will die off . Weeds only take over when allowed .

You're very lucky to live in a country where you can voice your opinions freely for the most part. That's about the only thing we agree on is Freedom of speech. But does carry consequences when sharing hate. Don't be surprised with the backlash.

Love the thread and yes I do agree that this tragic event has changed our country forever. This is the reason we need to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones.

Default Members Are Reminded . . .

Any Member is entitled to disagree with a post made in the Forums.

Additionally; if they are on topic (tangentially or otherwise) so long as they may do so in a manner compliant with the Guidelines they can post their disagreement in the Thread.

It should be known by the Membership that I do not take this topic lightly.

I am a Retired Member of the United States Armed Forces; as was my Father, and so is my Son.

While I disagree with the dissenting opinion, I have freely given more than a third of my life defending the rights of our citizens to disagree in a manner that is defined by the Federal, State and Local laws (to include the Guidelines for the Community of Eccie).

Members are Reminded of the following guidelines. . .
Quote:
  • #1 - Avoid cases of unprovoked rudeness to others. No place for it here. Yes, with the dynamic nature of the threads and topics, tempers will flare and things will become heated from time to time. You may often encounter individuals who become passionate or emotional when expressing one's opinion or point of view. That's all understood and perfectly acceptable within reason…….but, start slamming or bashing another member and be met with consequences.
  • #3 - Disrespect to others, IN GENERAL, will be considered an item of low tolerance, especially when posting in our coed forums. Follow the Golden Rule and treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. This applies to fellow members as well as staff. We do not require that you have respect for us, but we do require that you treat us respectfully in the public forums. If you feel the need to vent, gripe, or blow off some steam regarding a staff member's action or decision, we ask that you keep it private. Email, RTM, or the PM system would be the appropriate avenue to take in such cases. In cases where you would like to request additional clarity about a staff decision, you are free to pursue an answer in either a public forum or private means of communication. If handled publicly, post your inquiry in a respectful manner.
  • #4 - Blatant insults or hostility toward another member will be met with staff intervention. This applies to using our coed forums for name calling, personal attacks, or vulgar slang terms to describe fellow members. If you have legitimate concerns about another member here, share them tactfully in the appropriate private forums or with staff.
  • #7 - Threats of violence or physical harm will not be tolerated under any circumstances. There is no place for that on this board.
  • #13 - Our moderating staff monitors the forums with the goal of keeping threads on track and on topic. Occasionally we may issue specific instructions or direction to a poster and we ask that you respect those instructions and follow them. Disregarding a moderator's written instruction or repeating a violation for which you have been warned will most certainly result in penalty.

That's the beautiful thing about America and Freedom of Speech. I, and a lot of others have fought (some wounded, some died) for his right to say what he wants. My only question for him is, "Would you, yourself, return the favor, if need be????????

Since I was already past the age of selection when I arrived, I talked my son into the Service. He completed 1 Term - 7 yrs, went to Houston for Harvey; then, to the Middle-East before he returned and is trying to settle down in life. He is young. He is opinionated, but, he is also respectful and mindful of others' opinions. So, please do not judge ALL youngsters based on a 'selfish' few.

FYI: When I first arrived in this country, saw the behavior of some kids (in malls, supermarkets, etc) and watched news about Juvenile behaviors/punishments, I always felt that the best punishment for these kids would be to send them to a 'boarding' school in one of these 3rd world countries (one used to be my country until I took the oath for this country) where they would understand the value of freedom while also getting an education and a taste of life that the less fortunate endure and live without complaining, but, fulfilling all of their obligations with a smile on their face..

Hey people this thread was started to honor the people who died in 9/11
The people who was innocent that was at the wrong place at the wrong time. And one person didn't and couldn't respect that
It would have been so easy to keep your opinion to yourself until a different thread was started
Our arm forces provided that freedom to use to enjoy
My earlier comments was if you don't like our freedoms feel free to leave and make your country of choice to your liking
