What planet do you live on??? Fort Worth is big, will certainly hit a million people next year, and will soon be in the top 10 among US cities with the most people

The young man on Parker's right, her oldest son.. Never mind, I'm not going to go there, LOL. Those glasses, though.

Just for fun.. How many of the World's top 20 most populated cities have you visited?
https://www.archdaily.com/906605/the...-world-of-2018
Just 2 for me.
But considering cities I have visited, like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Los Angeles, Taipei, Saigon and Hanoi are not on the list, 2 doesn't sound so low!

Unfortunately, I have been to about half of them in that link. Most of the firms I have worked for outsource a lot of the back office support (depending on the job grade) in a lot of those overly populated shitholes... I did like going to Buenos Aires though.

Wow. I figured 3 or 4 would be tops for anyone here. Many of them do look like shitholes, from what I can gather, not having been.
The question is begged. How many people can a city support, until it begins to crumble under the weight?
I appreciate cities, but my guess is that 750,000 to 2 million is ideal, before growth becomes an impediment. Maybe a top of 1.5 million is closer to saturation.

The cities in India are the worst. Everyone is on top of each other and the buildings are as if you could push them to the ground because they seem so unstable. It wasn't surprising to read about their extreme covid problems because there are just way too many people living in those condensed cities there. I had to go to Mexico City a few times for work and it has way too many people, but unlike the cities in India, at least that city is fairly modern.
Almost half of my team is located in India. They ask when I m going to come there again. I'm just thinking "hopefully never again". They love their gold and it is a lot cheaper there than here in the states. I just don't give a shit about jewelry so it's of no benefit to me so I can't even give them credit for that from a personal standpoint.

Its literally a shit pit. My co-workers who went over there to facilitate putting themselves out of a job were dismayed. The IT area was OK and partitioned off but a few feet away from the gates its open sewage and shacks.
Connection to India was slow and the folks doing the IT work with us were oversold. One day they lost power to the IT area in India and we could not contact our counterparts (not that it mattered much) because they had some mass demonstration.

The "Metroplex" is just one big population/land mass. Its difficult to tell where Rockwall starts and Mansfield ends with Arlington and Grand Prairie in between.
I knew what you meant Dilbert but interestingly...
Dallas 1.38 M, 385.83 sq miles
Fort Worth 895K, 349.19 sq miles
2018 numbers
Arlington is 400K
I grew up in South Oak Cliff.

FW is 349 sqm? didn't think it was that big. I went to google maps and looked up fort worth and dallas. I just eyeballed the size of the two cities. FW is not very square. its very sprawly.

All numbers are from Wiki.
For about 4 years in the 2010's, for my business, I drove from Denton to Waxahachie, from Eagle Mountain Lake to Rockwall. One time I was late to an appt because a private plane landed on I20.
I miss the Old BDD and the new BDD.

Just like the Houston Metroplex. You can’t tell one thing from another from Galveston to Conroe or Baytown to Katy. It’s all one big slab.
