Riot-Ravaged Minneapolis Businesses Can't Rebuild Because the Insurance Won't Cover It
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politic...ver-it-n867003
the gist of that article is that cities are going to be hallowed out by riots and burning.
so the business people are shutting down. the money's not worth it.
there is value in business. it depends on whats its worth maintaining.
if your insurance covers only $25,000 and the contractor cost to tear down and rebuild is $200,000, whats your choice?

The radical marxist and racist DPST's like presiding over burned out riot torn derelict cities - it means everyone is on the DPST welfare dole and under their power.
The socialist revolution hs alrady begun - and burned outcities are the Utopian Dream of teh racist marxist DPST party.
Minneapolis is a preview of what they plan - and will do.
Prepare to protect Oneself from their OBLM and antiFa mobs!

well. seems Paul "the pud knocker" Krugman makes yet another idiotic claim about riots..
Paul Krugman Gets Epic Dunking After Saying ‘Urban Anarchy’ Is a Myth Because His Neighborhood Is Safe
https://www.redstate.com/sister-told...rhood-is-safe/
US economist and Nobel-prize of Economy winner Paul Krugman speaks to journalists after his meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in Tokyo, Japan, Tuesday, March 22, 2016. (Franck Robichon/Pool Photo via AP)
My RedState colleague Nick Arama wrote earlier today about how some “journalists” were rushing to act as apologists for embattled Democrat mayors by declaring everything was coming up roses in cities like Portland and Washington, D.C., contra to President Trump’s claims that such cities are “ablaze all the time” thanks to violent BLM/Antifa rioters (the latter of which was, of course, “ fact-checked” by Brian Stelter).
Not to be outdone, liberal New York Times columnist Paul Krugman took to the Twitter machine earlier today to make similar declarations, suggesting that complaints about rising crime rates in big Democrat-run cities like New York amounted to needless blathering about a “nonexistent crisis” simply because he was able to go on a morning run in his neighborhood without being accosted by “black-clad anarchists”:

Paul Krugman
@paulkrugman
I went for a belated NYC run this morning, and am sorry to report that I saw very few black-clad anarchists. Also, the city is not yet in flames 1/

Replying to @paulkrugmanThe political question of the day is whether Trump can win politically by hammering on a nonexistent crisis of order in America's cities. You would think not, but I'm not 100% confident 2/

Krugman then referenced an October 2019 Pew Research piece on perceptions of crime in the U.S. as if that had anything whatsoever to do with what the situation on the ground is like now in liberal cities like his where rioting and looting have become the rule and not the exception over the last several months.
Immediately after that lazy and outdated tweet, Krugman demonstrated a complete lack of self-awareness by ranting about how “people live in bubbles” and proclaiming that “claims of urban anarchy are almost entirely fantasy”…

Paul Krugman
@paulkrugman
Replying to @paulkrugmanOne reason is that people live in bubbles. After 2016 there was endless reporting on how urban types don't understand the lives of guys in diners. But there's equal if not greater absence of comprehension going the other way. 4/

Krugman is a proponent of massive government spending as the cure all for everything.
he's a piece of shit who will be executed after Lord Trump wins reelection and declares himself ruler of all eternity. all who dare oppose His Regal Majesty the Lord Emperor Donald, Supreme Ruler of the Multiverse shall be executed

So.. I'm confused. I have business insurance for my small business side hustle. If I suffer a total loss-- I have xxxxxxx in coverage. Its very inexpensive for the coverage. Everyone is talking about how much coverage they get for demo-- and that's all fine and dandy but-- if they have coverage.. then they also have coverage on all their property within the building, their goods, etc. Its not like that coverage just disappears if they have to demo.
Look-- all of the damage is wrong... however, I'm not understanding people who don't have their asses covered if they're in business-- its not expensive to do.

If it isn't expensive it likely has many exclusions, exceptions, etc.
Small businesses have almost no equity value anyway unless they are profitable beyond the owner's free market salary. That's the salary you would pay someone else to do the job. If you can't do that with your small business, you just have a job with extra financial burdens and liabilities.
As for freedom, your customers may well have more sway over you than any boss.

I love how you felt the need to explain equity value....
In regards to freedom-- whether you work for yourself or work at Walmart.. the customers will always ultimately have more sway over you than any boss. Unless, of course, you don't give a fuck about your job.
And for retail/restaurant... insurance is not that expensive. The most expensive aspect of insurance tends to be liability for those that get hurt while on your property (particularly restaurants). I have good coverage for personal loss along with a nice strong rider for product liability. I'm the sort that spends a couple hundred to have my attorney look over things like this. Its worth the peace of mind.

Grace,
A quick note about insurance: claims for damage due to wars, riots, and a couple other things are usually excluded unless very expensive riders are added to policies.

Now that... that makes more sense. And I'm betting those riders just skyrocketed in cost.

What we're looking at from the folks screaming about whatnot in the streets is classic:
"Dictatorship of the Proletariat"
Look it up.
Biden is trying to ride that wave but refuses to actually acknowledge that.
Portland during its fun is a textbook case.
History always repeats. Always.
