How much did Pence help Trump in his 2016 victory? I would say none. Probably the last VP nominee that truly helped a POTUS nominee win was Kennedy picking LBJ. There have been VP nominees who have probably hurt though.

I doubt that no matter who Biden selects will hardly impact voters one bit as for whom they will vote. At least not enough to move the needle in one direction or the other.

Pence didn't hurt Trump either. no one expects Biden to be a 2 term president if he's elected. most people don't expect him to finish one term so you aren't voting for Biden as president you are voting for who would succeed him. so yes it matters bigly.

I think Pence was picked because of his experience as a Congressman and a Governor. Pretty valuable experience when Trump had zero experience in politics. As far as the election, Pence was a proven conservative. It may have helped with conservatives. I wasn’t sure how Trump would govern. He certainly campaigned as a conservative. He has governed like one too. But nobody really knew he would.

Demings of Florida and Gov Whitmer of Michigan if selected would help the most with the electoral college math. As you have already pointed out if Biden flips Florida he only needs to flip Michigan or Arizona to get to 270 (the promise land).

No, Pence did not hurt Trump. As I said, people vote for the office of POTUS, not VPOTUS.

I said a long time ago Biden would be a one term POTUS if elected. While in reality who Biden selects as his VP nominee is important, I don't believe it will have any impact on the minds of voters when they cast their ballots. They will be voting for Trump or Biden.
