It is not showing disrespect to the flag as the original protester Kaepernick asked a decorated soldier what kind of protest he should do. I will be going to my HS reunion this year, and this big, old white guy will be sitting on his ass during the anthem. I also will not recite the POA.

I think the NFL should have members of Wounded Warriors available to stand beside anyone who kneels to help remind them of the people who have sacrificed for that flag, so that these assholes can play a sport and make millions of dollars. Maybe they should go play soccer in some of the other countries around the world and pull this shit

There is one part of this thread that I find amusing and revealing. The individuals in the camp of believing players should stand up for the anthem tend to base it on rules and respect. The individuals who believe they should be able to do what they please immediately jump into character assasination. Why is that? Must be the age old conservative vs liberal ideology.
The biggest problem today is that people just can't make a firm decision and go with it. Right or wrong stick your neck out and be confident. Very few in high places actually have balls to do this.
