Ever since I was working with small children when my children were little ones I started to get the flu shot. I have always worked around lots of people, and the one year I didn't get the shot, I got the flu. Really bad. It was terrible.

Flu shots for me every year, even if I have had to pay out of pocket for some reason.

I believe in them.

Look at the national hysteria over terrorism committed by individual from predominately Islamic countries. That terrorism kills an average of 13 Americans a year. The flu kills between 13,000 and 36,000 and nobody bats a fucking eye.

I used to get the flu shot every year with out fail. Never had one issue. Then 4 yrs ago I had an awful allergic reaction. My entire arm swelled up and turned beet red. My Dr.told me to never get another one because the next reaction would be worse and possibly anaphylactic.

2 days ago - Parkland Memorial Hospital this week served a record number of flu patients, according to KTVT-TV (Channel 11). "We've had over 1,500 positive flu cases and 400 people admitted to the hospital for the flu," Dr. Joseph Chang, Associate Medical Chief for Parkland told the station. On Monday, when 930 ...

Flu related deaths: Dallas county about 30 Tarrant county 3? (I doubt this is accurate)

**** Some Pharmacies may be out of TAMI-FLU but the GENERIC is available this year. Pharmaceutical companies have said there IS NOT a shortage of the meds, but pharmacies are running out and having to wait for more supply. So you may need to call around to find availability.

ANOTHER FYI Tip...IF you have the flu or Upper Respiratory "CRUD"....Be sure to get a fresh toothbrush, so you don't re-contaminate yourself.

If your symptoms are SEVERE, you may need to go to the ER, less severe...Care Now or similar facility.
IDEALLY, don't go near these places. PLEASE consider using TELE- MEDICINE type phone services ...such as

PLEASE get more chicken soup into your diet. Chick Filet offers GREAT Chicken Noodle Soup.

I go to a korean omd in korea town.....I had had some physical injuries which he resolved through accupuncture and went again after three successive head colds.
He reccomended i do a "tea" treatment every season which involves drinking this tea he makes specifically for you(he calls it tea but it's really medecine from herbs) drunk twice a day for 30 days.
Havnt been ill since

I would also add that if you get sick or are afraid of getting sick because of exposure STOP EATING SUGAR AND DRINKING ALCOHOL IMMEDIATELY with sugar being the more important.....the cold/flu virus feeds on that shit.
Do some research in how to alkalize your body
Walk outside vigoriusly for 30 minutes every day

I just learned this the hard way. I was feeling better enough where I thought I could partake of 'some' bourbon ('some' being subjective) but ended up regretting it for two days after.

Did you get the shot this year?

No one is immune to the flu and there has been over 30 children deaths and several adult deaths just in the USA alone:

Zinc does nothing and Vitamin C supplements are shit. Getting Vitamin C naturally can really help though

My experience with the flu.
Got the flu shot many weeks ago at my Dr. urging.
Recently had a co-worker arrive at work, sick, even stated he had fever, idiot came to work anyway.
I did my best to avoid him but he breathed in my direction a few times.
Two days later I felt like crap.
Went to my Dr. and was tested. Took 15 min in office while I waited.
I had Type B flu.
Before I saw Dr. I put on mask and my own latex gloves. Most of ppl in Dr office had masks on.
Got Tamiflu generic (not cheap)
Overall my flu was mild, temp nvr over 100º, no GI issues, biggest problems were fatigue and body aches, even my hair hurt. Flu shot and Tamiflu helped make my flu easy to handle.
Quarantined myself for duration of illness.

Saw on the news you can get the flu by breathing the air around a sick person, which is what I did; sneezed particulate material can travel 25' or more, and flu can stay active on a hard surface 24hr
.
Sick people please be considerate of others.

Had my haircut this afternoon at a full service spa place in Dallas. The lady cutting my hair told me the 20 something BF of her co-worker died last night of the flu. He might be on the news.

Be careful and considerate out there.

I wonder if I can get Type A and C flu?

That was the epidemic they called the Spanish Flu.

My father had the Spanish Flu and nearly died from the secondary pneumonia. WWI was over before he recovered and so he didn't get shipped out, so the flu probably saved his life.

Point of this, if you're old enough for the free coffee at WhataBurger, get the damned flu shot, and the pneumonia shot while you're at it.
