the two party system will prolly remain unless there are major changes in state laws regarding easier ballot access for other 3rd parties.

When people refer to themselves as "progressives" (there is no "Progressive Party" in the U.S.) they are attempting to establish their status on the "high ground" ABOVE the others by justifying their desire to depart from the existing mores of our society and creating a lifestyle that suits their particular agenda.

Progressivism is a philosophical movement. It isn't suppose to be a political party but it can attach itself to certain organizations to promote itself just as the Christian Coalition isn't a party but attaches itself to the Republic Party to reach its objectives. BTW, your description sounds like the political propaganda for both modern liberals and modern conservatives. It seems like the same rhetoric or "agenda" I have been hearing as of late.
