For baseball fans, especially those who have been baseball players in the past, it's an awesome experience for anybody to spend a week with your favorite team. Back then it was $3,100 for the week, you got put up in a beautiful hotel and got to spend 5 days training and playing actual games with other fans and then against a full legends team. You get actual uniforms, but you provide your other gear.
Can you imagine getting to take a fastball from John Tudor, or having Vince Coleman teach you how to steal a base?
They normally run during the winter, and while they're expensive, I think the 2011 package for the Cardinals runs $4,500 plus your travel expenses, for former ball players who love their teams, it's a must do event once in your life. Most major teams have them, commonly called a Fantasy Camp. You get all kinds of skill levels, but mostly non-ball players, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about if you have no skill, it's an awesome time, we had a 72 year old right fielder!

Fantasy Camps are an absolute BOMB!!! I've done the Astros camp twice and it was the time-of-my-life!!! Being in camp with a bunch of ex-Astros and alot of us wanna-be guys is just too cool. Lots of stories to share but one was me getting drilled in the ribs by Joe Sambito. Man, it worried the crap out of him the rest of the camp. He kept asking, "man, you ok".
Any of you guys who have the urge (and money), I recommend trying it. It's an experience you will never forget.

Damn EA. The hot rods is how I got to know him, too. Without giving up too much info for fear of outing myself, remember his '63????
