It all depends.

Truly, ignoring some people is the best way to drive them insane. The recently departed/retired/???? SL fit that category.

Others, the silent treatment is not terribly effective. For some they need to be confronted because they are the grade school bully. When they make an insulting, degrading post and don't get called on it, they feel emboldened to insult and degrade more. Fortunately those types often respond in an inappropriate manor to being ridiculed and then find themselves on a forced time-out.

Know the enemy.

I agree--but not every weed succumbs to the same treatment.

Yes, I actually prefer whiskey since KC doesn't have the best beer selection (hate all you want lol).

Just because those bars have that much beer doesn't mean KC has a good selection. Most micro brews from KC are horrible. All the good beer out of those 200 aren't from this area.

And Coors shouldn't be called a beer. That's worse than the piss KC puts out when they try to brew.

I guess you should move to San Diago so you can be close to Stone but I think you are probably they type who would be happier with Serria Nevada's NC location.

I have not had the opportunity too check out the latest breweries for a couple maybe 3 years but I did always like the crazy ass brews they made back at Power Plant back in the day but back then even Granite City north had a couple of good beers, not so much now.

Beir Station looks like a nice place for a few beers, McCoys never impressed me, I am an original stakeholder in Boulevard (now
Duvel Moortgat)
and there are many good beers they brew but if you're staying in a pop up, so very good. I don't know shit about Cinder Block, Martin City, or Border brewing or almost anything that has popped up in the Crossroads or KC Beir in Waldo or Crane in Raytown but I think I would like their beers.I always liked Free State, never impressed with either 75th St( Lawrence is 23rgd now) Only time I ever drank in Raytown was out of a flask downstairs hustling pool at the Rec. Raytown cops scare me like Westwood's do. I can't say I have ever heard anything good said about Liberty's brewery.

So what is wrong with all these beers that you want to drink a Pappy instead of a beer?

I'm from KC, and most Boulevard tastes like shit with sand in it to me too.

As for Coors Light..... you'll have to answer to the gentleman in the black Trans Am who got 400 cases from Texarkana to Atlanta.

What beer are you calling KC? KC Beir? What are you drinking from BLVD that tastes like sand as I don't recall ever having that one but this is one of my favs.

Their Smokestack series has been a pretty well received series of beers that I find in some of the finer beer establishments all the way to the east coast.

In Carmel. In this is on tap at one of my favorite bistros, go ahead tell me this makes you puke.

I am guessing from your opinion on beer that your BBQ of choice would be a McRib? Just joking. Do you have a KC beer you would actally drink if someone bought you one or would you rather have a McCormack"s Vodka /bourbon? I'll take a Bookers myself.

That, sir, is hitting below the belt. There's nothing finer than KC BBQ.

KC BBQ Society and the AR BBQ competition used to be so much better than today, to much BS, politics, and commercialism.

I was on the New Stanley BBQ team back in the late 80's, early 90's and had some of the best times ever. The craft beer revolution was just beginning and there was plenty to be sampled between teams. I do miss KC 'que but here in Indy I know a guy who is getting to be well known for his "Ghost" pepper pulled pork cooked on a Southern Yankee Smoker. ME!

But insulting KC's beers? I will say that between Rock Bottom, and the place in Leawood that went under "Take the money and leave wife behind"" that beer in KC was to some more about the experience than the beer but there were a few to be enjoyed. I do wish Power Plant would have survived as their Triple Rye Bock" was outstanding. It was a big beer and I still think KC lacks those.

I'm all over a couple of Stone's "Drink by" IPA this afternoon after I plant my tomatos. It is too bad who ever is buying the beer does't know about Beir Station.

I knew about Dark Horse Whiskeys, but to be truthful never thought they were outstanding, yet very good, as I have been a small batch drinker for years. Booker Noe personally taught me 30 years ago every thing I know. Barrel strength bourbon is what I like and I like it neat but if i need to add water to cut it I move along. I see that Union is bottling their 5 year and I am sure it is worth a taste.

I did not know about the name change. (the pic showing casks didn't mount at first so I couldn't put the two together) I guess that Gallo owned (bought) the rights to the brand name and now sell that cheap ass Wal-Mart/ drug store mixed red wine under the Dark House name. It sucks having to change your brand.

Seeing a distillery in Lenexa was a shocker when I remember the Kansas private club memberships back in the day. Certainly is progress as I live in a Sunday, no carry out except for brewed on site beer. Ya really!
I can't recall the Private club's name in a cabin setting that sat somewhere off Marshall Dr. behind Wolferman's Muffins or Coke in Lenexa.

But I will pass on a trip to one of the local microbrews to have a few at Union Horse. Can that be done?
I hope to go have one with Fred sometime in the near future and pick barrels with him. It's a dirty job so I may as well do it... Fred Noe
