I love red cars. Certain cars look good in Red and certain ones don't. My last car was black which is gorgeous but a pain to keep clean.

I don't think red makes a car more feminine... not that I really care what color a man's car is. If a car looks good in Pink or Sky Blue, fuck if I care if a guy or chick is driving it.

As for me, I like black cars, but on some cars, black paint can hide certain accents or fine touches, so lately I've been crushin' on Dark Grey/Charcoal cars... especially Charcoal muscle cars with black stripes or accents.

If you like it, that's all that matters. It's you making the payments and not them.
So who gives a hoot what other ppl think of the color of your car... ?

And to your point, not only is black hard to keep looking clean, but my 1st car in Austin was black on black on black. That car would easily get 10-15 degrees hotter in the summer than a white or silver car. Perhaps keep that in mind while shopping...?

But I agree... a clean black car driving down congress at night looks very good w/ the lights overhead bouncing off it's evil sleek body.

A buddy of mine has a black wide body NSX-R that he has put some nice wheels on. Very sexy looking car. Unfortunatley, only little boys seem to want a ride in it :-)

A red Miata with an automatic transmission is feminine - unless it has 300 hp.

Horsepower trumps color and model - if you have over 400 hp. If you have 200 hp or less, it is probably feminine unless it is a motorcycle or a Lotus Elise.

America's favorite car colors seem to have gotten more conservative in recent years, possibly as a result of the economy, according to experts.
White and pearl white were the most popular car colors among North Americans last year, together accounting for 17.8 percent of car sales, according to the 2009 DuPont Global Automotive Color Popularity Report. Other leading car colors were black (17.7 percent), silver (16.7 percent), gray (13 percent), blue (12.4 percent) and red (12 percent).
North America's favorite car colors – white, black and silver - are universally popular. Globally, the top five vehicle colors are silver (25 percent), black (23 percent), white (16 percent), gray (13 percent) and blue (9 percent), as the graph below from DuPont's report shows.

Not sure if this could affect the numbers, but I've noticed that many car manufacturers tend to offer the least expensive models with the standard Silver, Black or White colors. If you want a more exotic or unique color, you have to fork over the extra cash and upgrade to the mid or high-end model of said vehicle.

Maybe it's not that White, Silver and Black are exactly the most popular color by choice... maybe it's because the low-end models are only available in those colors lol.

Red? No problem with that for me.

Miata with an auto? SIN!!! It's a sports car (not a chick car, check out Spec Miata in the SCCA).

There is a light yellow Gallardo driving around town. Chick color? Not for a car that can do 55 on MoPac in 1st!!

Used to race a car in Formula Atlantics (before that became WAY TOO EXPENSIVE) who had a pussy pink car. "It takes real confidence in your manliness to drive one" he'd say. Given that he could do an outside pass at TWS #2 and make it stick, his balls were the size of bowling balls!

BUT, red is usually referred to as "bust me red".
