This thread IS social/economic commentary and the focus is services offered vs. what the market will bear.
It is true you could sub in other typically contracted services and come up with the same answer though. I am not going to hire an unknown plumber/electrician/painter with a list of exclusions a mile long ("I only paint on wood as drywall is demeaning.")and pay a masters rates for someone just establishing themselves. Established or not contractors are always in competition with each other and need to offer ways to differentiate and therefor justify their above average costs or offer their services at a price point where the percieved value is higher.
I put 190 to 220 but it's irrelevent since she's not my type(too thin).
