"Arguing" for the sake of doing so, as many of those that challenge my opinion do, is rather pathetic...

Debating a subject minus the emotion however... is how people learn.... not just the ones that participate but the audience that is reading...

I suspect there's the impression that some of us communicate in private regarding SG's discussion. I've never met W or SKF and have never PM'd or received PM from them since the SG discussion started. Those of us that stand on the same side on this topic, do so because we came to the same conclusions after reading the details presented.....

Very interesting thread. Great points, Beagle. I've specifically stayed out of the other super thread. I only got involved when it was dragged into National, because I felt that was inappropriate. I wasn't that pleased with Whispers posting about it without specifics over there. I definitely spoke my mind, to no avail, about her supports that came there and, in their attempts to defend SG, linked it back here.

Funny thing is...I think both of those sides perceived me as "being against them."

The odd thing I see, and have heard others comment about, is that certain posters with absolutely discount anything Whispers said, simply because he said it. Similarly, many people agree with their favorite provider simply because they want to keep fucking her...

I often could not disagree with the side he takes with regards to any topic. The means through which he gets his points across, though, is always rather controversial. He riles up many posters and is efficient at garnering lots of attention towards any specific topic. As a result, he's accumulated a "fan club" who have become fixated on opposing anything he says. Ironically, it's the "fan club" that would bolster W's ego.....

Going back to the SG fiasco, I see all these anti-W posters.......who have made their anti-W agenda synonymous with defending SG's mistakes, when in fact they're 2 different issues. W is no more a messenger than SKF and dearhunter are. Just because he's taken it upon himself to head this discussion, doesn't mean you anti-W members have to shoot down the message.

Going back to the SG fiasco, I haven't seen any posts addressing her innocence with regards to her accusations. It's degenerated into an anti-W and anti-SKF topic...

I've agreed and disagreed with him in the same arguments before. I think what he said is true. Most of the time he just makes comments to rile people up.

freedom of speech ( as long as you don't directly lie) is absolute. Doesn't mean people have to listen, also doesn't mean you have to invade other people's fun either. Also doesn't mean gotta keep going over and over and keeping threads alive forever.

No. Providers are people too. Some good, Some bad. Sometimes they do good or bad things. There's nothing wrong with defending a provider or a Hobbyist.
There's something wrong with attacking people ( Hobbyist or provider) just because you don't like them or have a vendetta against them.
I did. A Hobbyist irritated me and I went back and forth stupidly until I made a completely wrong comment about him. When I realized it, I apologized and stopped.

My comment about anonymity on interest making us uncivilized was not directed at a specific person ( although egomaniacs think every comment is for them.

this is an issue talked about on tv and in colleges. How many times have you heard the comment " well he/she isn't like that in person, it just how they are on the internet."

in person, I'm very shy unless I know you well. Here I'm a lot more expressive, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
