Mr. Eagle,

In many ways your right and in many ways your wrong. We had no choice but to use the Nuclear Bombs on Japan for it stopped thier ability to manufacture more weapons and who knows how close Japan and Germany (who were allies during world war 2) were in creating thier own nuclear weapons. Bombing Japan was a hard decision but it stopped the WAR that could have destroyed the GRRRRRRREAT and FRRRRREE USA!!

As far as the Middle East goes, we created thier OIL Infrastructure only to have them spit in our face. Our Countries Oil Companies Spent Trillions of Dollars that never was repaid so they can grow thier Economies. IRAN is the next Nuclear Power and they are Extremist that beleive in DEATH to the West. They still owe our Oil Companies and BELIEVE me one day a major BOMB named GUITO will collect our Debt. We put our FOOT down on Iraq in 1991 and Saddam continued to SPIT in our Face which Forced us to call his Bluff in 2003.

Believe me sir EAGLE we won't stand still and watch IRAN destroy us. They will pay the ultimate price and we all know what that is.....

Ok, ....... you are full of shit .... from your "Russian History Classes" .....

.... [actually I cannot believe they even teach such crap].

"Before America drop indiscrminately into a civilian population the A-bomb Japan was almost totally defeat it in larga parts thatnks to the mighty Russian army.." "eagle" wrote.

I want you to continue believing that the U.S. is ....

... a vicioius, mean, warmongering, 800 pound gorilla that will kick any country's ass that will screw with us or our citizens, and we are capable of doing so on a moments notice.

And when you write "home" .... confirm that to them in each letter.

Please!

I hate that all over the world civilians die in war/terrorism efforts, but it is just considered "unavoidable" for every nation except USA. We are expected to have magic bullets, magic bombs, and magic humans who NEVER make mistakes so that ONLY the "bad guys" are killed.

My only fault with the US and any of the wars we wage these days is that we are too damn politicized and politically correct. We are TOO civilized to conduct a REAL war. Too... "progressive" and elitist.

Actually, now that I think about it, I would say America has not gotten into a real WAR in a long time, perhaps since WW2. Why do I say that? Because if we were in a real WAR, there would be no white-glove troops trying their best to minimize even inconveniencing civilian life much less civilian casualties. If we were in a real WAR, there would be entire cities and regions crushed down to the ground, not this selective picking and choosing.

Yeah, it may be a war to the people fighting against our troops, but to me it isn't a war for US until we throw away all these crazy rules of engagement and and go ALL OUT to win. And if we aren't willing to go all out to win, then maybe we just shouldn't be there, so that point I will give you.

Default Fruitless Discussions

Getting into arguments such as this are fruitless, everybody goes into them with their minds already made up.

But, I will say this. In 1945, my Father was in the Phillipines, training to be part of the Mainland Japan Invasion. The estimated cost in US Soldiers life would have been staggerring, considering the number of casulties that we encured on worthless rocks, (except for strategic purposes), such as Iwo Jima.

So, my Father would have had a darned good chance of getting killed. Since I was born in 1947, that would have made me non existant.

Yes, I am glad to this day that President Truman had the courage to order those two bombs used.

...and among these failed techniques was the disguising of bomblet munitions as toys so as to attract the kiddies to pick them up: Brezhnev's Barbie Bomblets.

...and post-soviet "pacification" of Chechnya was a marvel of population eradication. Any journalists care to expose some of the atrocities? No problem, journalist sudden death happens.

Go eat some Polonium 210, Eagle...you'll feel much better, I promise you. That stuff is said to be even tastier than Chernobyl Boar cutlets.

My Dad was in the Corps from 1939 to the end with numerous landings, most notably in my recollection is Tarawa (Eddie Albert was there driving a boat), and, although he rarely openly discussed his experiences, he never mentioned any Russians.

I recognize that the "Russians" suffered immeasurably and horrendously during WWII at the hands of the Germans, but the "Russians" did not get in the fray with Japan until after Germany had surrendered. For the "Russians" to take "credit" for prevailing in WWII is ridiculous ...

... in fact I think Russian never paid its "materiel" bill to the U.S.

.... what is more ridiculous is a "Russian" to criticize the U.S. for initiating "hostilities" toward other countries around the world.

Soviet Denunciation of the Pact with Japan

The American Ambassador at Moscow transmitted to the Secretary of State, by a telegram dated April 5, 1945, the following statement, as received from the press section of the Foreign Office, regarding Soviet denunciation of the U.S.S.R.-Japanese neutrality pact:

" Today at 3 p.m. People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR Mr. V. M. Molotov, received the Japanese Ambassador, Mr. N. Sato, and made the following statement to him in the name of the Soviet Government:

" 'The neutrality pact between the Soviet Union and Japan was concluded on April 13, 1941, that is, before the attack of Germany on the USSR and before the outbreak of war between Japan on the one hand and England and the United States on the other. Since that time the situation has been basically altered. Germany has attacked the USSR, and Japan, ally of Germany, is aiding the latter in its war against the USSR. Furthermore Japan is waging a war with the USA and England, which are allies of the Soviet Union.

" 'In these circumstances the neutrality pact between Japan and the USSR has lost its sense, and the prolongation of that pact has become impossible.

" 'On the strength of the above and in accordance with Article Three of the above mentioned pact, which envisaged the right of denunciation one year before the lapse of the five year period of operation of the pact, the Soviet Government hereby makes know to the Government of Japan its wish to denounce the pact of April 13, 1941.'

" 'The Japanese Ambassador Mr. N. Sato, promised to inform the Japanese Government of the statement of the Soviet Government."

_________________ End of quoted material______________________ ____

While Japan had a "neutrality" agreement with the Russians, the Japanese killed from 100 million to 200 million (the average report is somewhere around 150 million) Chinese during the Japanese occupation of China ... most in concentration and "medical experiment" camps..... and, of course, "exported" Chinese women to Japan for "fun" and death.

...the peace-loving Soviets, ahh, I look back fondly upon '39 when Molotov thought Ribbentrop had cut him some slack and thus saw the opportunity to end Finnish aggression, invaded Finland....and got the shit kicked out of his "mighty" Red Army by Finn light infantry on skis. At least for a while.
