Default Yes, yes you are...

A homer and a dreamer I'm not really a UT fan. But, I think you may be right on this. I think they'll be competitive and with Bamba, they have tremendous potential. Give them some more games to gel. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the NCAA tourney.

We lost a grinder to a good Michigan team because once again we can't hit 3's. We kept chucking them up too. WTF! We had wide open looks and at least 33% should of gone in. We drive the lane and get fouled and make 1 of 2 from the line. UGH!

You have a lot of emphasis on FR this season. Good FR, but FR. They should get better as you go along so I wouldn't jump ship yet. They are playing a tough early schedule so some losses will come.

By the way, while the Texas men should be pretty good, the Texas women are very good this year. Just made it up to #2 in the rankings and just lost a very tough game to an undefeated TENN team, far from a disgrace.

Mo Bamba - Shaq Clear...Is it just me or whoever named them well, they might be Matas kids.

I hate watching LHN bc of how bad the commentators are (homers) but Bamba is going to the NBA..so is Texas turning into the Kentucky wanna be?

Texas is a 13 pt fav v Tenn st.

Horrible game for us. We needed a score and got it in the last 10 seconds. We simply can't hit wide open 3's or free throws. I'm beginning to think Smart is a great recruiter and a average coach. He made me sick last year. We were terrible and he was always clapping at them coming into a time out instead of getting in their ass. Bamba will be a 15 year NBA player but he isn't a go to scorer. He is a rim protector. rebounder and stuffs off lobs. I'm liking what I see from Jerico Simms though. Osterkowski is our best player but he can throw up some real bricks BUT I really like him. Coleman hit the winning shot but he can't shoot. We had way to many turn overs. Tenn ST looked like TENN. They were 5-4 and an average team. Waaaaay to much talent on this team to not win 20-25 games. We play like this in the Big 12 we will loose more than we win.

Go see the UT Women. Hot team, lots of skill etc. Especially schedule a ticket to see them play UCONN next month! I've been going to their games since 1989 and this may be the best team I have seen in all those years.

The Tennessee loss will be an exception. UConn this next month will be the BIG test. The TN loss was due to super-guard Brooke McCarty being injured and not playing up to her ability. See this last game against Florida State when she scored 24 and was 3 for 4 on 3 pointers. And she is only 5' 4" !!! Incredible player...sees the floor like no other. Then there is the rest of the team!!!!

Horns should of beat Kansas. Bamba was dominating. You can't beat anybody shooting 3's like they were. 17 they made. Wow, they made that look easy.

As I said early-on, I expect Texas to make the NCAA tournament. Right now Joe Lunardi has Texas as an 8 seed, which is about right. Losing to Kansas, ranked 11th, by 6 points, even at home, with their leading scorer just back from an injury and playing just 9 minutes, will not hurt their standings.

The Big 12 is a tough conference from top to bottom, with a predicted 7 of the 10 teams making the tournament. The big question for Texas is will the guards hit enough shots from outside to balance the strong interior game that they have. They shot 28% from beyond the arc against Kansas. That has to improve.

Have they beaten a top 50 or 100 school yet?

If getting in the tournament is the goal, then why get a new coach? Nearly half of the teams make the tournament. It’s very much like “let’s make a bowl game” when there are 40 bowls.
