Best steakhouse in town: Bohanan's.
Best churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse): Chama Gaucha.
Other excellent steakhouses: Myron's (new location on NW Military Hwy near Wurzbach), 18 Oaks (at JW Marriott resort).
Good steakhouses: Perry's (but their pork chop is even better), Fleming's,
Non-steakhouses that serve excellent steak: Biga on the Banks, Fig Tree (much better than Little Rhein), Olmos Park Bistro, Bistro Vatel, Tost Bistro, Sandbar (the seafood is the best in town, but they do a very good steak, too)
Enjoy your dinner.

What a wonderful evening I had dining at Chamagaucha! The food, service waiters and staff was beyond my expectations. I left there smiling minus the hunger pains when I arrived. I suggest you make reservations, the place was packed. I highly recommend this fine restaurant, every staff member I came in contact was very attentive to our needs. Hope to visit some of the steakhouses mentioned.

Chama Gaucha - the pork ribs are to die for. I know it's not 'steak', but I am always tempted to have the server leave the whole damn rack on my plate when they come around... Oink!!!

There are five or six Brazillian steak houses in town. The Chama Gaucha out on Stone Oak is great!! Besides the meat, the salad bar is surperb! The ice cold aspargus spears are incredible. You could fill up there before even touching the meat. Yes, starve yourself for 24 hours before going out there! Go slow, plan on a few hours of pure eating pleasure!

Bohanan's.........excellent and probably one of the top in the state.
Roaring Fork is great and has great happy hour with lot's of cougars.
(they have a burger called: "Bad Ass Burger"...and it is)
However, Perry's is my favorite:
Good value, especially the 3 bone pork chop at happy hour
Good atmosphere
Great Service
Great Drinks
Neat location

I have to agree with Tx. Land & cattle. Those sirloin medallions with shrimp a sweet potato and a Budweiser is what I had in Dec. for my b-day. Every bite was bliss.

Hands down the best steak in town is the Barn Door on N. New Braunfels. If you want alot for a little then go to the Little Red Barn.

Don't forget HEB and a red hot grill!!
But if you do take Chuck's advise and go to the Barn Door - check out the Blue Book there..........If the Gipper hasn't lifted it yet............Where was it located, Gip???

just a thought - we did Perry's last night (some kind of special day - hehehe). I must tell you that for the price - I feel there are much better products out there.....

IMHO - J Alexanders NY Strip is to die for. Best I've had so far. And I love the ambience - Dark and posh. Throw in a bottle of wine and some appetizers... Very romantic. It's a place a lady who's all glammed up feels like she fits.
I also like Texas Land and Cattle but your lady probably won't be wearing spaghetti straps here.
I did Ruth Chris for my BDay this year because of the crazy rep it has... I was VERY disappointed. They serve the steak on a plate that is as hot as a frying pan and actually brag about it! How stupid is that??? So I'm paying around $40 for a steak that I want medium rare and then I have to inhale it otherwise it will....KEEP COOKING the whole time it sits there. Amazingly stupid especially for a place that categorizes itself among gourmet.
Barn Door - not for me. You get a lot for your money there. BIG steak, little money. But to me it's flavorless and the ambience is cheap. Your lady is gonna be wearing sweat pants, a tee-shirt, and a scrunchy here.... I'd rather grill at home.
Outback - Decent. A little overpriced.Better than pan-fry at home. But not better than outdoor grillling.
Roadhouse - same story.
