It's amazing four years later and the majority of you whackjobs have no idea that Trump was a Democrat until George W. was elected president, he went independent and then super anti-Obama Conservative Republican after Obama was elected.

Close, but not quite. The problem is that you're still thinking in terms of parties. Look up Huey Long from Louisiana, he's a good parallel to Trump. In his time he was both accused of being a communist AND a fascist.

Trump isn't necessarily far-right, he's just anti-establishment. And being anti-establishment is a major feature of both radical ends of the spectrum, which is why he won a lot of support from the far right.

Moderates, on the other hand, tend to be very pro-establishment. It's hard to find a anti-establishment moderate. There's a reason why the far right didn't really come out for Trump this time, (Even the Boogaloo Boys are calling the Proud Boys "statist bootlickers"), and also a reason that far-left progressives were calling Biden a "democrat in name only".

Basically your sign posts are Bernie Sanders on the Left, and Ron Paul on the Right. Progressives think Bernie is a Moderate Dem and everyone to the right of him is a Republican. Futher-Rights think Ron Paul is a Moderate Rep and everyone to the left of him is a Democrat. (This is why DINO and RINO are terms).

Basically, the last 4 years have been Trump and the anti-establishment populace on both sides making their voices heard for better or worse. The show of power Biden & Co. are doing at the capitol w/ the lockdown and the 25-30k troops, the asinine vetting of them, as well as the COVID lockdowns and trepidation is the establishment trying to assert control and try to resume being the loudest voice in the room.
