I meant more that wouldn't it be hilarious if I had guessed the movie wrong than casting aspersions on the accuracy of the source of my trivia.

The Producers (1967)

Don't know why I confused Kenneth Mars with Will Ferrell (Brain Fart, I Guess)

Yep. One of my favorite scenes in that movie (and there are many)... Though your brain fart did have me going back to doublecheck who played Franz Liebkind in the 2005 film, on the outside chance I had misidentified the scene myself.

Lady: Will you please, shut up!
Franz Liebkind: You shut up! You are the audience! I am the author! I OUTRANK you!

Your first answer was close enough I'll give you the next turn.

Cheers,

bcg

Wait a minute... I think a little more specificity is needed. Which The Three Musketeers is it? If you go to the IMDb and search on "the three musketeers", specifying exact title match, it returns a list that includes (by my count, which might be mistaken) 23 separate feature-length theatrical movies in a period from 1903 to 2011. (It also returns a lot more hits for TV movies, TV series episodes, and direct to video releases, IIRC.)

When I saw the picture I knew it was a Three Musketeers movie, but I was stumped by which one it was... I knew it wasn't the 1973 Richard Lester directed one (one of my favorite movies), and it wasn't the 1993 Disney released one, but that still left 21 movies that it could have been...

Cheers,

It was the MGM 1948 Technicolor Version of the Alexandre Dumas Classic.
Just a few people in this one that you might have heard of:
  • Gene Kelly
  • Lana Turner
  • June Allyson
  • Van Heflin
  • Angela Landsbury
  • Frank Morgan
  • Vincent Price
  • Keenan Wynn
  • Gig Young
  • And a Host of Others. . .
