I would like to know how the lady in front of me at Walgreens bought cigarettes with her (government) Lonestar card tonight? Aren’t you only suppose to be able to buy food with those things?

All she purchased was a pack of Newport’s for a little over 6 bucks and I clearly saw her swipe her Lonestar card and saw the transaction go though.

Please don’t tell me people can buy freaking cigarettes with our government and state dollars!!!!

Should NOT be happening, but if the clerk rings up milk and hands over ciggs, well there you go. If you go to Walmart on the first of the month you will see LARGE carts of food being purchased and I've noticed they purchase beer, wine and makeup separately. But it’s not supposed to happen.

You'll also see ladies 2-3 at a time shopping together. Each with their own cart. All the stuff goes to one place and one lady pays the other two cash .30-.50 on the dollar for their purchases. Guess what the other two do with their cash?

Yeah, I thought right away that something was wrong and I don't wanna get on any conspiracy theory crap, but this was a Walgreens where everyone in the area is a Lonestar card recipient (I actually think the median income in that area is between 10-12k a year), so if fraud is happening, it's bound to be happening at that Walgreens.

Seems like Walgreens is a poplular spot to buy GREEN DOT cards to pay management it would seem! IJS
