Good question for a lawyer. I’d feel better if some sexual activity or nudity on her part occurred before any money changed hands.

When you're so uptight, the English kick you out, you really need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Am I a dick?"

Hmm wonder if word got out to the sub amps.
The other week I went to a place I had never been. Paid for a massage and on the flip she didn’t bother negotiating or anything and just started playing with my dick. Blew my load and she cleaned me up and finished the massage. After it was over she got me some water and didn’t ask for a tip but I gave her one anyways on the way out.

Unfortunately just the "charge" is enough to ruin most people. You might fight it an win but did you really win?

This law also makes it possible for a lady to later accuse you of paying her. She can make a police report as easy as women so inclined report sex harrassment. The police can now put out a warrant for your arrest just on a woman's word. No police need to be involved in a sting. Its her word against yours. I can imagine some will use this new law to threaten and blackmail men.

Absolutely consider you pay a really good defense lawyer to weasel your way out of it you are looking at a high 4 figure bill in the end. Don't forget all the time off from work too for court dates and even if you manage to plea down to something lesser it's still a huge fine and community service.

Police don't put out warrants, courts do. And in this example, I doubt it would take long to discover a spurious claim was made. Remember, false accusations taken before a Judge is criminal action itself.
The new law is over-reaching and obssessively punitive. But let's keep it in context, and away from hyperbole.

I read the law over the weekend. The confidential claimant language is aimed at pimps and managers, not johns.

That is true about warrants. But, I will tell you from seeing a friend go through a situation, even tho there was no warrant issued due to lack of evidence, the guy still suffers. Any woman that accuses a man a of rape, physical/mental abuse, ect. is automatically believed by LE. He is not only arrested, but subsequently loses his job, has thousands of dollars in legal fees to pay and is estranged from former friends and family many times. Then, after all that, they find out she was a jilted lover or just a woman with a grudge. No charges against her either.
That new law is suppose to focus on pimps mainly, not johns, but LE has been trying to take down pimps for a long time (I hope this time it works, as I would love to see a few pimps I know, one in particular, behind bars so they can be the bitch). In other words, they are saying that although prostitution is illegal itself, it is not as bad as long as the hooker is willing and not forced or promoted aka "talked into the life".

Exactly,
Now let’s see that in promoters perspective.
It’s not hard to see which handles are promoters for which spa.
If spa owners do the business right, they keep their books. Which will have expense on promoters’ pay. If they don’t have the book, it is not a deal breaker. Pattern of posts should be enough.
Ladies, moms, owners, driver will testify against promoters/pimps for lesser charges.
Easy to charge AMP pimps.

This last paragraph is not too far off of what I came away with after I read the entire bill. What one has to remember is LE does get tools they will use to press johns into helping their case if they are able. The guys here need to look long and hard at how they hobby (and what they share about their activities on SHMBs) in order to mitigate that risk.
I did just that the last time the state legislature passed a bill purported to combat trafficking back in 2019. I’ve backslid a bit this year, but unless I read something from a knowledgeable source that changes my mind I’ll probably just rededicate myself to those mitigation strategies going forward.

The media focus is on the felony for offering to pay. As I read through comments I see some that presume our government and law enforcement will always play fair: police dont really care. Judges are honorable. Ladies won't frame an innocent man. The media wont print baseless allegations. Lawyers will beat the charges.
All the while our neighbors in other states are enjoying things as usual, saying wth is wrong with Texas?
This bill by a Democrat female passed unanimously.
So I see this bill as a part of a trend in this continuing war to destroy men... as AOC calls it, the "male patriarchy." Shes a sly communist, and she claims she was afraid on 1/6 of male conservatives raping her. She knows how to lie for gain.
Thats why this new law is going to be abused. It will be used to destroy careers, lives, families. Because at its heart our government is corrupt to the bottom.

Wow, just wow.
A law designed to prohibit a woman from doing what she wants with her own body in pursuit of commerce? A law built around the idea that if a woman is selling her body, she must be trafficked, because she can't possibly do so of her own free will? And that's a war against men?
Some of y'all need to lay off whatever brain pills you're taking.

This right here. They're going to bank on the idea that anyone caught up in a case like this is going to want it to go away rather than going to trial where they are likely to be acquitted. It's unlikely they'll have any admissible evidence they can use, but the risk of having things out in the public record is enough to get most people to get to a plea on lesser, and lesser embarrassing charges.
Also, they're going to use the charges against sexually-oriented businesses, then use them as bait to drop them to get pleas on the money crimes (tax evasion, money laundering) and so on.
Sex crimes are messy, hard to prove, and have no upside for the police. (Politicians on the other hand...) Money crimes generate revenue for law enforcement. Prosecutors love cases where they can get the conviction without a trial.
