I love to watch ducks. Especially mother ducks trailed by her ducklings in a neat row. One baby gets to sit on her back, because I think it is a strictly single-seat affair. The rest get to swim! I wonder what types of negotiations and huge family issues Mama has to settle each time she takes babies out for a swim. Its bad enough when People Mamas just go to the grocery store or Walmarts, a major trade union deal! So what's up with the ducks? But I have never seen them cut up even once the family convoy is on the way, unlike kids!
Another fun thing to do is to take a big sack of old bread and baked stuff that some bakeries are throwing away and go to one of the Finger Lakes and begin to toss bits into the air. Have your car doors open and ready for a fast retreat!
Gulls will begin circling and snatching the bread out of the air around your head, so throw forward, and you can create circles of gulls like concentric circles, getting more and more excited in a feeding frenzy and whirling round and round. Keep up until your BIG bag is almost gone, and never do this more than a yard distant from the open door of the car. Run inside, shut the doors, hide. Wait for the craziness to die down. Leave.
Perhaps you may need to go through a carwash, but it is a fun thing to enjoy with a friend, and does no serious harm. Gulls are tough. Emotionally too!! [Certain Englishmen/women claim that seagull eggs make the best eating. They also eat rook pie! People are interesting.
