That would create a somewhat Utopian society. But like Utopia, it is purely fictional and sounds better in theory than in practice. There's no way to get people to act civilly by force or by threat when they can hide behind anonymity. It just doesn't work.

None of us are perfect, but we don't need our flaws displayed in public. Even if behind a curtain, it can eventually be leaked out. And while this site relies on anonymity, personal info being leaked can be detrimental to one's Real World occupation and home life.

Imagine if the stalkers knew there was as alert out on their handle. Wouldn't they just get another handle? Another phone? It wouldn't work in that situation. Things, as they are, aren't perfect, but we'll have to deal with them as they are. They just need to be policed more closely. That would explain the recent infoshare guideline modifications.
