I suppose since biomed posted it, he needs to rule on whether I was correct or not.

As far as I'm concerned, TV movies would be fair game (it would probably make the game a tad more challenging, but maybe not... ) but since Spanky created the game he's the ultimate arbiter on the rules, so I'll await his decision on that. (Going into rules lawyer mode here, I'd argue that since the The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh had a theatrical release in Great Britain, albeit under a different title, it is acceptable even under a ruling that only theatrically released movies count. )

I have a film scene picked in the event I guessed correctly on that one. It's going to be either stupidly easy, or devilishly hard. Or both.

Cheers,

To clarify, looking things up for research is fine - just not reverse image searches that will often lead directly to the answer. On the honor system, obviously - no way to know who did what.

Theatrical release or direct to video / streaming are preferable. Otherwise it opens to a lot of super obscure TV movies that few if any but the poster will have seen. No hard and fast rule on TV movies though; go ahead if you want to post them, but I'd encourage everyone to pick movies that have a reasonable chance of getting some good guesses.

Damn. That means I have to toss that scene I've uploaded from the obscure Belarusian cable series that aired 15 years ago?

Both Titles are correct.

I saw Dr Syn in the Theater or Theatre while in Europe.

Yep (the 1961 theatrical movie, not the later TV show, of course). Pictured from left to right: Barbara Eden (Lieutenant j.g. Cathy Connors), Joan Fontaine (Dr. Susan Hiller), Peter Lorre (Commodore Lucius Emery), and Walter Pidgeon (Admiral Harriman Nelson).

Irwin Allen (the producer) had wanted to cast David Hedison in the movie as Captain Lee Crane (commander of the Seaview), but Hedison hadn't had a good experience on an earlier Allen production (The Lost World) so he turned the role down. When Allen developed the movie into the TV series of the same name, he renewed his offer to cast Hedison in the Crane role. Hedison almost turned him down again, until he found out that Richard Basehart had been cast as Admiral Nelson; Hedison was an admirer of Basehart and jumped at the chance to work with him in a series.

The plot of the movie was recycled, abridged, into an episode of the TV show, and stock footage from the movie was used for some of that episode.

Ok, enough trivia. Your turn.

Cheers,

Oh wow, that was Peter Lorre? Ha ha - I thought it was Ernest Borgnine, but I see it now.

As I mentioning in my first foray in this game, I will be unable to post the next screen. BCG, will you do the honors, please?

I forgot Lorre was in this movie. One of the first films I saw with pre-Jeannie Barbara Eden

Not only was she in this one, among the supporting cast in this movie was Michael Ansara (playing Miguel Alvarez), to whom she was married at the time. Ansara is known best (at least among Trekkies) for playing the Klingon Commander Kang in three separate iterations of the franchise: The Original Series, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager.

Ok, since you delegated the next round to me... This will either stump the chumps or one of you will get it immediately:

Wild-ass guess: he looks something like Wyatt Earp, so I'll guess Gunfight at the OK Corral.
