Unhappy Amy Winehouse and the "27 Club"

I don't know much about Amy's music, except for a couple of songs, but I know her death was tragic. My question is... what's up with this 27 club i'm reading about?? I know it's all musicians that have died at age 27... do u think it's coincidental that a lot of musicians died at either the peak of their career or when they were really eff'd up on drugs and whatnot? do u think some of these musicians ended their life at the age of 27 on purpose to be in this "club"?? like i said.. i dont know much about it, but there are probably some big rock and roll fans who know what i'm talking about and can give some more insight on this

Default "27 Club"

Babe, here is a good link, pretty well covers the "members".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club

The big four that everybody always mentions, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Curt Corbin, were all industrial strength substance abusers. Maybe the point is if a human starts consuming large quantities of drugs and alchohol at about age 18, they have about 9 years left.

There is a lot of speculation that Amy Winehouse figured she would never make 30, so why not go out and become immortal in a slect club of dead junkies.

thanks hun im gonna read it now
i read somewhere that the autopsy was inconclusive, so they are waiting on the toxicology report, which could take up to 6 weeks.
im pretty sure theyre gonna find a medicine cabinet and a sh*tload of street drugs in her system but who knows...
those before and after pictures of her show how bad she really got.. she started out in 2006 and she really started looking like a crack whore.
what a shame

The news said today she died from a seizure from going "cold turkey" on alcohol.

Tragedy about Ms. Winehouse, but talentwise, she does not belong in that set of pictures above. Threw it all away before she really got going. Just my opinion.

I have to agree Texas T, the others paid there dues and where true legends, she was on her way but not on the level they were, She was basically famous for the song "Rehab" on her Back to Black album, the rest was all about her partying habits, hardly qualifies for a legend.
