Yep, looked it up. The president was more likely to be a republican when the debt went up than a democrat. However, it is the Congress that creates the budget and not the president. Sooooo... the republicans took over Congress in 1994 and the debt started going down. The Senate was taken over by the democrats in 2003 and the Congress was taken over by democrats in 2007. Now if you take the last 50 years and contrast who dominated Congress and the Senate then you cannot help but notice far and away the democrats ruled over the debt.

How do tax increases benefit the business climate?

Printing more money doesnt pay shit! They're just borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, AGAIN!! Raising the debt limit does nothing but devalue the dollar on the world market. Democrats and Republicans are responsible alike for this mess. Had all the past politicians/presidents did what they 'claimed' during their campaign, we wouldn't be looking at such a FUBAR situation.

Keep thinking your vote matters, that 'your' political side is the 'correct' one, and keep electing these fucktards that make the same old promises and you'll soon realize you are as fucked up as they are!

Ouch! You didn't have to bring up that CDN thought the 14th amendment would allow Obama to act like a dictator. He was looking forward to it. Still, last week Obama himself came out and said that 14th amendment would not allow him to do what CDN wanted him to do.

I don't see where he said anything in that post about printing money. But, yes Obama can print money to pay the bondholders. It'll just devalue the money of all those Teabaggers that wouldn't take the deal. Win-win!

Obama can also start selling gold from Fort Knox. That'll drop the price of gold that Glenn Beck fans bought. Win-win!

LOL! Longer thinks there is still gold in Ft. Knox! And printing money will devalue your money too. Possibly even lead to hyperinflation and total economic collapse. But as long as it hurts the Tea Partiers, it's ok.

And also, those who borrow from Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.

It was required reading in my University 20th century history class in the mid-70's.

There must be gold in Fort Knox, I saw it in the movie Battlefield Earth and Scientologists would never lie.

Sections of Mein Kampf were required reading in poli-sci classes back in the 80s as well as the others mentioned.
