For starters, a 100mph fast is the same now as it was in the 20’s. No matter who’s throwing them. The Babes eyesight and reaction time is as good or better than players today. Secondly, Chapman is from fucking Cuba. You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. In the 20’s Chapman would be serving the Bambino highballs instead of fastballs.

I for one would have loved to see the guy in his hey-day. Nothing beats those huge hitters in box- and watching the huge hits. Ruth, Jackson, Mantle from the older days and then guys like Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcgwire, and lets not forget pops off the Pirates- Willy Stargell with chicken on the hill. (I never really liked Bonds or his style, but will give a nod to the fact that he's racked up the most.)

I miss a lot of players in the early 70's and 80's but watching true sluggers muscling out Homers left and right is always a lot of fun to watch. anyone who can hit a ball 500-plus feet is rockstar in baseball hitting. I would have loved to see some of these guys hit in person.

I listen to the FAN everyday, I didn’t hear that bullshit. I heard during the WS was Pomp, Starkey, Poni etc, stating that Ohtani has surpassed Ruth as the best player in baseball history. That’s a fact, not some conjured up lie. Comparing today’s players to those from a 100yrs ago is a fools errand. Errands that you’re uniquely qualified to handle.
