I agree with you that is may not be a great idea but to say that a sovereign country can't mandate how you enter their country is foolish. Can't get in if you have a DUI either.

100%. If you're a foreigner in Canada and they bust you for speeding, I think they CAN ban you from coming in for a while too. Last time I was in Canada, they pulled me over to see if I had been drinking lol I told him not for the last year i haven't

That isn't right, unless things changed recently. They consider you "rehabilitated" after 10 years without a repeat offense. You might have to ask for them to "review" it, though. I don't remember how it works. And too lazy to look it up...

It costs a grand for them to consider reviewing it.... and then you'll need a Canadian lawyer to navigate you through it. Count on it costing a minimum of 5k before you jump throeugh the hoops....

When I was 19, that was over 30 years ago we were at a club in the Falls. Our plates were stolen from our car. We asked a couple of mounties what to do. They said we'd have to leave our car. Fuck that. We went to the border.
"Citizenship?"
"US"
"Go ahead"
The good ol' days.

Hasn't been like that in the last few years. I've crossed in four different bridges in the last six years. I had a DWI 14 years ago and never got asked a question.

March 21, 2020 until August 9, 2021 isn't even close to "in nearly two years".
https://www.convertunits.com/dates/
Date difference from Mar 21, 2020 to Aug 9, 2021
The total number of days between Saturday, March 21st, 2020 and Monday, August 9th, 2021 is 506 days. This is equal to 1 year, 4 months, and 19 days.
This does not include the end date, so it's accurate if you're measuring your age in days, or the total days between the start and end date. But if you want the duration of an event that includes both the starting date and the ending date, then it would actually be 507 days.
If you're counting workdays or weekends, there are 360 weekdays and 146 weekend days.
If you include the end date of Aug 9, 2021 which is a Monday, then there would be 361 weekdays and 146 weekend days including both the starting Saturday and the ending Monday.
506 days is equal to 72 weeks and 2 days.
The total time span from 2020-03-21 to 2021-08-09 is 12,144 hours.
This is equivalent to 728,640 minutes.
