The popular vote, that does matter, is what is contained within each state. It is here that each state's electors are chosen. It is the electors that vote for president, on behalf of the state that they represent.

It is the states, not the people, the elect the president. Your 2.86 million surplus, for Spillage Shrillery, can come from any single metropolitan area. Not exactly representative of the United States. The last thing we need are a bunch of morons living in Democrat-controlled population centers determining the fate of the country.
