so, what's in a name for this period of chinese dynasty (1948 - 2016)

my first thought before reading this article was Mao dynasty. that got thrown out as it didn't fit the rules pertaing to dynasty naming.

author suggest in the end the Communist dynasty.

China has a rather strange Government.

While still being "communist", the "rulers" have allowed capitalism to flourish, and business to become the true ideologue.

Of course, they still retain the right to put you against the wall if you do something that offends the Government.

they are essentially Fascist. they are "communist" in name only, however, they do contain a number of commuist elements; party loyalty being one of them and Mao is still their Godfather.
