Casablanca is far and away the best, but still many other great ones:

Romantic Comedies: Breakfast at Tiffany's- Audrey Hepburn, G Popard; The Philadelphia Story - Katherine Hepburn, C. Grant; Roman Holiday with A. Hepburn was fun.

12 Angry Men still gets my attention, never saw the charm of North by Northwest. Must give a nod to The Forbidden Planet - ground breaking sci-fi; Musical might be An American in Paris, but so many great ones to choose from.

I disagree. I think Casa Blanca is way over hyped. Another Bogart movie (To Have and Have Not) is also a 1944 Bogart war movie, basically Casa Blanca set in Martinique, 19 year old HOT Lauren Bacall in one of her first starring roles replacing Ingrid Bergman. Hoagy Carmichael playing the piano. Walter Brennan playing a better drunk than Bogart. Stupid bar replaced with a cool fishing boat. And the (Viche French) Nazi's get it in the end. a zillion times better than Casa Blanca.

Agree re 12 angry men. Along with Forbidden Planet, every time I watch either of these movies, I see 10 new things I never saw before.

Also, re Forbidden Planet, its one of Leslie Nielson's serious roles. Only thing funnier that Leslie Nielson is Leslie Nielson seriously trying to be serious.

And, The Blob. We are introduced to hot Aneta Corsaut before she became famous as hottest teacher in the world Helen Crump.

And of course, Swamp Thing. What more could you ask for? Cool Wes Craven monster, and Adrienne Barbeau with mud on the world's greatest tits ever.

Forest Gump. Don't tell anyone, and this is embarrassing, but I cry every time Jenny dies. Kinda enjoy seeing Sally Fields kick the bucket, but Jenny - every time I cry.

So gals, if you ever want to see flinde's vulnerable sensitive side, get Forrest Gump playing while the nasty is happening.

12 Angry Men is great. I liked Seven Samurai, (it's subtitled but worth the watch!) The Longest Day and Casablana to name just a few!

Seven Samurai is a great movie but I always make it a point to watch "My Cousin Vinny" whenever it comes on TV.

To Have and Have Not, Casablanca, Maltese Falcon, and the Big Sleep ... ALL great Bogart films. Other great movies I can watch any time they are on are, Stagecoach (the movie that made John Wayne a star), Gunga Din, The Philadelphia Story, Citizen Kane (although a bit heavy) Fort Apache (also heavy), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Rear Window, Captain, Blood, The Black Swan, Robin Hood, To Catch a Thief, Arsenic and Old Lace, Young Frankenstein, most Hitchcock movies, and most Cary Grant, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, and Abbott/Costello movies.

A great weekly series on TCM is called the essentials. Robert Osborne, and Alec Baldwin discuss a movie and what makes it 'an essential' and then you get to see it and decide and afterwards they again discuss and preview the next weeks movie. Have seen some of my favorites and seen some ones that I still don't like.

My most favorite movie of all time is Midnight Cowboy. A great film with young Jon Voight and a young Dustin Hoffman and Brenda Vaccao. Also Viva, an Andy Warhol protege, makes an appearance. It takes place in the underbelly of New York. I've seen this film so many times I can repeat the lines. Many years later Brenda Vaccaro made a sort of sequel in the 2002 film Sonny . It's not a real sequel but she plays same part that she plays in Midnight Cowboy as a now much older woman recalling her youth.

The Theme song is so haunting. Here's a trailer http://www.spike.com/video-clips/3lf...cowboy-trailer
