Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey did the heavy lifting here. Trump swooped in to hog the credit like Phase 1 is Phase Done. Not the the first deal he pretends is done while he's got a framework deal in principle he can still fuck up.

We saw all the walkout at the U.N. for Bibi and the eyes glaze over at El Trumpo rambling rant. They needed to get something done as more countries recognized Palestine, and we knew it wasn't going to be Trump controlling Gaza to develop it.

Calling this an agreement is a little premature at this point in time. I’d liken it to a temporary ceasefire instead. Hopefully all the parties involved can hold it together long enough for the peace process to take hold.

Like most presidents who are involved in peace deals of this nature the details are always worked out by the professionals in the room. Presidents like all politicians step in at the last moment to steal the credit.
