There's probably some Russian mob involvement in a part of the community, but I have trouble believing it's a very significant presence. I've known a couple providers personally who had no such connection, but I realize that doesn't prove much. It seems that organized crime would be more likely to be involved in large agency providers, but who knows.

First the size and scope of the Russian mob has been greatly exaggerated by Hollywood. Outside of some pockets like little Odessa, staten Island and a few other locations the Russian mob is pretty much a myth in this country. The Arminian mob is much larger and spread throughout the country and many people confuse the two. With the advent of the internet and the ability of ladies to get work, the money that was once their in escort services has been greatly reduced. While once a major money maker for the Italians here in KC, it has been pretty much abandoned by them in KC outside of some "wink" "wink" type of stuff at the strip clubs.
