South America and Mexico were messed up by Europeans from the Iberian Peninsula centuries before anyone thought of the idea of the United States. Caribien nations as well. Haite has been a hell hole since the French left.

Interestingly (to me) : While the British colonials were as oppressive and exploitive as any other colonial power, what they left at independence were often societal institutions that could stand alone and flourish in comparison to other former colonies.

Bermuda, Jamaica, . . .even India and others ; are all fully functioning nation states. On the other hand, that cannot really be said of many former colonies which were run by Belgium , France and Germany.

South America staggers along despite their collective dysfunctional baggage left to them by Spain and Portugal.

Exactly. I was referring to the current country north of the border and how they mucked about in the affairs in countries south of the border.

If all the crap we did down there was addressed, ima sure there would be a helluvalot less people to round-n-ship.

But no. For the first time I can remember, we have a fat loud mouth in office bragging we are going back into a country there to keep screwing things up.

You are stating that the USA has done nothing to covertly affect domestic policy and/or elections in countries south of the border? Let's cut out the former so we can more narrowly focus and give a refined answer. Just answer the latter:
