you are full of it and you know it. going to an emergency is getting free medical care. it costs the goverment/ tax payers
illegals and "biden blessed" illegals are over whelming the system
the dems are blocking the bill simply for medicare funds for illegals and more foreign aid
it will bite them in the ass no matter how big of lies they spew
climate change would slow down gristle if you would stop blowing your hot air..............

I'm not. EMTALA is 1986 Republican policy, a replacement for Hill-Burton, signed by Reagan and not something you can blame 2025 Dems for. You should be unhappy with the 1986 Republicans that thought it was prudent to require treatment for EMC's.
It's also an unfunded mandate. Please dig deeper. No need to triple down with partisan talking points 5 levels removed from direct causation. That's not productive and it's very easy to dismsntle

9.1 billion last year on illegals for emergency care funded by Medicaid
That's free government health care for illegals. Only a moron would say it's not
And I dont need u to tell me whennit started puppy. And it wasnt intended for 9 million Biden illegals either
Tell me what gives u more of a woody, being a liberal or pretending to be a righty?

It's even worse for two reasons. First, they clog up emergency rooms with minor medical issues. Second, the hospital charges taxpayers (that's you and me) much more for their ER visits than they charge our insurance plans when we go for genuine medical emergencies.
And before anyone says I'm making the case to give them free Obamacare - nope! If they're not deportable yet, make them pay 100% out of pocket for their health insurance or get it through an employer like everyone else. Or they can self-deport and get treated in their home country.

That's not illegals through EMTALA. That's people with a valid temporary legal status through Medicaid. Or the some undocumented through Emergency Medicaid program which is different from the normal Medicaid they aren't eligible for.
You don't have the buckets right or the labels, Oldman.

Undocumented workers contribute billions in taxes, including to Medicare and Social Security.
https://crr.bc.edu/the-truth-about-i...cial-security/
They aren't eligible for Obamacare, Medicare or Medicaid.
Still not something to shut down the government over, especially when it's within rounding error territory in terms of % of the total budget.
That's causing dollars worth of damage to save pennies

The “shutdown” hasn’t affected my life, at all. Without the media freakout hardly anyone would notice. President Jacuzzme would fire affected workers permanently, then another 10% per month until there was an actual, noticeable reduction in essential services.
As a business owner, I’ve never really wrapped my head around the idea of essential workers. They should ALL be essential, or nonexistent. Who, other than government, hires people who aren’t essential? It’s ridiculous.

There you go... stumbling over your own contradictions! If they're NOT eligible, how did the Dems under Biden set up "special" or "emergency" Medicaid programs circumventing the law?

you have alot of bullshit
let me help you
1. if an illegal goes to the emergency room, is he treated, yes or no?
2. who pays for that?
3. if your answer is yes they get treated and the goverment pays
then its free healthcare
now thats not so hard, even for a closet liberal

In most cases, the hospital. Assuming they aren't able to get payment from the patient.
The cavest is if they're in a state that reimburses out of special state funds and if the care was eligible.
It will also depend on the treatment. This isn't where a pile of federal spending goes.
Dig deeper. Still not something to shut down the government over.

If I'm an illegal immigrant applying for free Medicaid, which I am barred from receiving under federal law, the trick is to call myself a " legally present immigrant" rather than an " undocumented" one. Then presto - I'm good to go!
Just be a little creative with the semantics! Easy peasy!
Thanks for clarifying.
Oh wait - isn't that what most Americans would call "gaming the system"?

As usual, Lusty. No.
That wouldn't make you eligible any more than Michael Scott yelling publicly that he declares bankruptcy would have been an effective means of solving his money problems. It misses the forest and the trees
