I think the man is right. Winn Dixie doesn't know what a semi automatic is. Do you realize that a double action revolver is a semi automatic? Here's the pointy part, how do you get the guns off the street? You talked earlier about increasing penalties for gun crimes. Are you going to redefine what a gun crime is? This country does not have the jail space or the police to enforce that law.

Of course, there is a remedy for the use of a gun in a violent crime.

I suggest that those opposed to the civilian possession of a firearm should repeal the Second Amendment. There are sevral mechanisms for doing that set out in detail in the main body of the Constitution.

If banning firearms of one sort or all guns is such a good idea, the Amendment process should be a snap. . . .the repeal of Prohibition went right through.

The progressive left will complain that repealing the Second Amendment is obviously not possible. Well to me, that means that doing so just is not the best solution to limiting the usage of guns in committing violent crimes.

We need actual enforcement of existing laws and need to make major changes on the second amendment. Too many lives lost.

Too many guns

We need to increase the age to have any firearm to 21.
Each gun should have a registration number that can be tracked and taxed

Trumpf has taken no action to save lives from gun violence. He signed a ban on bump stocks knowing his judges would overrule! Trumpf doesn't care about gun violence.

People who know weapons disagree with you and so do many in the middle. You're wrong, the majority do not want to ban assault rifles. Of course, if you want a national referendum then we have to disqualify the ignorant, the radical leftists who want to ban all guns, and the criminal who does not want to be perforated by a granny with an AK.

A "National Referendum" on banning guns would be the repeal of the Second Amendment in The Bill of Rights.

That would tell you who and how many really want o ban all guns!

But the progressive left never talks about that, because they know it won't fly . . .ever. Even if the leftists did get both legislative houses, the executive office and had nine justices on the Supreme Court, they couldn't push through repeal of the Second Amendment. To amend the Constitution, you also have to get ratification from a super majority of the states.

That is how you sample the will of the people on banning guns.

The first post in this thread, the OP has made a vague suggestion on modifying the Second Amendment.

Most of my life, since my pre-teen years in the early 1960s in fact, I have heard agitstionab out cun control. Well OK, abolish the Second Amendment.

But the progressive left never brings that up, preferring to pass laws and local ordinances that, at best, harass lawful, non-criminal citizens, but leave the lawless alone. At their worst, these so-called "gun safety" efforts create new categories of criminality designed to ensnare those otherwise non-criminal citizens.

The Constitution provides at methods for altering the basic document through amendment. One or another of these mechanisms have been used something like 28 times . . .I am not confident in knowing that exact number this early in the morning.

The point is, that it can be done and has been done. So, I say to the cun confiscating leftist among us . . .get to it and initiate the amendment process.

Lets see just where the bulk of non-criminal Americanizes stand on this.

Back in the 1950s, kids managed tom put together a section of car antenna with duct tape a chunk of wood and rubber bands to make a .22 caliber zip gun.

Check out YouTube for videos on how to do some strange stuff with little more than that.
