Keep in mind, were talking about the inicial, first email. When someone emails me, I want to know they are serious and their intentions are about meeting me. After we get the basics out of the way, screening info/ref info, date/time/place details set, I find myself liking a little bit of communication so I get a feel for the gentlemans personality. I also notice that some communication is a great ice breaker. I routinely have a ten minute phone conversation with the gentleman I am planning on seeing. This phone call takes place within 2 days of meeting, sometimes a few hours before we meet. It depends. I notice this 10 minute phone call is a great way to break the ice, lower any anxieties if there is any. So therefore, when we meet, it's like we kind of know eachother a little bit. This business can be very cold, so I think it's beneficial to have some ice breaking tools for everyones benefit. The benefit is when you meet face to face, there is a familiarity; a sort of warmth, so now the expeience has a greater chance of being heightened, more enjoyable for both. Beaking the ice is especially crucial when meeting a first timer.
But if someone sends me an inicial email and it's just playful, then I wonder if this man really want to meet me or just talk? Sometimes I get emails from college students and they seem to just want to chat with me, lol.

I agree with what you saying. I do not mean opening communication with playfulness. I agree the playfulness is felt out between the provider and client as the date approaches, it can build more into the fantasy and bring additional tension to the encounter. Again, I think I am in the minority, but I find myself narrowing the circle of providers I see, and they also happen to be those who are playful in the communications with me.
