If you look at 2023 there were 945,000 applications while you guys were ranting and raving about 10 million encounters (which I've pointed out includes duplicates, but also includes individuals who weren't eligible for asylum from prior denied claims, individuals barred from entry and individuals who were immediately removed).

Only 287,000 asylum claims were even granted between 2013 and 2022. There were only 239,000 affirmative asylum cases filed in 2022.

Trying to make the halthcare about "illegals" is just more of the same old xenophobic fearmongering that the GOP has been feeding every day for over a decade now

According to eye, they’re all eligible unless you’ve got a different definition of ‘asylum seekers’. For policy purposes, it doesn’t really matter if they did the paperwork and received it. The fact that they can/could’ve is enough to disallow it.
