Nah. Bob Iger got Kimmel back on air. money wasn't an issue yet. it would have been if this lingered.
affiliates can decline content from ABC. it's their right per their agreement with ABC. ABC on the other hand can deny content to affiliates and Iger knows this.
what broke the standoff is Iger saying "Ok, don't carry Kimmel. we won't let you broadcast Monday Night Football."
this article was posted yesterday so today it's a day late ... but it outlines that ABC had the upper hand because Nexstar and Sinclair don't produce any independent content they are dependent on ABC for their slate of shows.
