It's fun to watch team redhat blow up and piss all over themselves in an attempt to silence free speech. Must be a defect that doesn't allow them to see how both members of the left and right of congress are dissatisfied at watching that. Kirk was certainly a guy who threw verbal bombs over people who were not Christian nationalist, but EVEN HE would not be happy about the attempt to silence free speech. And the most benign of it', is usually done with humor as has always been the case in history.
So the fine gents here - with fresh marching orders from their dear leader are pissed that Kimmel's demise was both over-stated and short lived. Maybe- the time to be concerned is now- and that the person to be pissed at, is the folks who are trying to silence that same speech. Imagine the uproar if the DOJ and FCC held Fox to the same standard.
I literally hear more there every damn day than Kimmel has done in a decade. Kimmel and others will not be silenced till the SCOTUS falls in line with DJT, authoritarian, dictator, King, tells them that he wants this to be the case. Will they capitulate. Democracy hangs in the balance when they may be the only check and balance on the Executive branch that still has a set of balls, but is afraid to use them.
Kimmel and all forms of speech should be allowed unless what is being said is to flame hate. Its' satire.

Eye, as usual the argument is Cherry-picked and not argued holistically.
Kimmel had a couple days off. Roseanne, Tucker, etc were permanently canceled as a result of their speech.
If anything the Kimmel situation should reinforce Trump isn’t a dictator. But it won’t. This is the path the left wants go down, the messaging goes out via the MSM, and the half wits follow.
I’m old enough to remember the below. Where was your outrage at Biden and the Dems for limiting free speech?
“Google to bring back accounts banned at Biden admin’s insistence: ‘Unacceptable and wrong” https://nypost.com/2025/09/23/us-new...id-19-content/

Gonna have to disagree with your position here. Trump leads by innuendo and tweets or texts; the whole way he dictates to Bondi, Carr and others on the team who get out of line, is via Un"Truth-Social". Carr's comments on the easy way or the hard way- where he thinks he's Bruce Willis / John McClain in Nakatomi plaza, is a chuckle. The FCC hasn't pulled a license for decades and the last time they did was for a failure to broadcast for a long time- (Months) Trumps comments that ABC Cancelled Kimmel- was also a lie- they suspended him indefinately. That's subtle but salient difference in words.
Watching the reactions to how Trump responding to ABC's 16 mill fine and this time it will be much "better" lucrative, is a tell. Is it his attempt to continue to line his pockets with money from companies who will pay him off, vs. fight in courts?
I know that money and the QATARY airplane are going to be used in the shittiest fantasy experience in florida at some point. The Trump Library. Probably the only library in florida that has books that are pure fiction only- including the Patel coloring book and Huckabee's pop-up books sold in the gift shop for 39.95.
If Trump want's to sue Kimmel or ABC, this should definately be the time where companies stand up to this type of extortion. That's what it is- plain and simple. The same way Trump has run everything in his own life. Some day Trump won't be able to use the DOJ as his personal legal team with synchophants running interference for him. I'd assume you likely think it's ok for Patel and others to look at trumps enemy's list and litigate till they cant' anymore?
Shit's got to stop and hopefully the courts will continue to toss out the frivolous lawsuits and allow ALL americans to have their 1st amendment privilege's upheld. Kimmel is just one of the many Trump has targeted. "Fallon and Seth are next"--- fuck him.

Double standard much eye?
Even Stephen A Smith makes sense. I’m starting to like that guy.
Stephen A. Smith *CALLS OUT* Left's "HYPOCRISY" over Jimmy Kimmel Suspension
"Here's the problem! Did we say that when Tucker Carlson was pulled off the air by Fox News?"
"Government overreach, the Biden administration and what they were doing when it came to Facebook and X!"
"Were we as outspoken then as we were over the last few days!? Because you see on this show, we're talking consistency!"

Should we mention a sitting president and pretty much every breathing conservative, or anyone whose opinion on Covid didn’t fit the government narrative, getting deplatformed?
It’s not just whataboutism, it’s pointing out hypocrisy.

Here’s the full admission from Alphabet. https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/ev...ter-to-hjc.pdf
It’s nice to see them admit it, but now what? I’m guessing nothing, there will be no accountability. Many heads should roll but Bondi is feckless and will do nothing.

Not every argument is immaterial because the words and angle aren’t liked.
The takeaway is you can’t claim Kimmel is a victim unless you see victims on the right and via big tech.
It’s like a constant double standard dipped in hypocrisy.
And all ball busting aside, any real centrist would see both sides of these arguments and not just pro-left after pro-left position.
