Long term parking near Downtown?
Hey kids! I am hitting town tomorrow and am totally over valet parking the rental car I am paying for. It's an annoyance up there with ATM fees.
I can either take the damn thing over to Enterprise and suggest they park it for free while I am in NoLa (I like this thought!) or find an inexpensive lot/garage for the 5 days I am visiting.
Any suggestions? Saftey is, of course, paramount...always!
Thanks in advance. Can't wait to be there.

A virgin is easier to find than free parking in this town lol. Cheap parking is even worse because most lots will change their overnight rate at the hint of a sellout night if it isn't posted and set in stone. It also depends on which part you're staying in. If you're in the quarter, that's a tougher needle to thread because of everyone coming in to drink.
Cbd/warehouse district on the other hand is playable. There are a few spots I know first hand that are metermaid blind spots.

Hum, that doesn't sound promising! was hoping to find a $10 a day garage in Downtown...
Can't imagine there are many virgins about, either! I have been reading up on the historical formation of NO and it is so colorful! but you knew that already.

Or park at harrahs casino, get a players card, pop some money in a penny machine and play really, really slow. 30 minutes of play gets you free parking for a day.

I am not sure where you are staying, but I have never really found the need for a car once you get to your hotel. You can walk, cab or trolley anywhere you want to go.

Pm me and tell me the "general area" you are staying. There are $10 a day garages in the quarter.

I was actually going to suggest what Dallas did... parking in uptown. If you PM me, I'll give you a safe area to park your car. My suggestion is that you just take a cab from it back downtown.

Parking is at a premium for daily use, I have monthly parking in the French Market lot across from Jackson Square $175 month.
You can park in that lot for about $12 a day during the week and about $17 a day on weekends... Not sure if they have a weekly rate???? That's about all I know. PM me for more details...if you like.
