escortradar.com Surprised no one has mentioned that site, yet. Rather fitting all things considered. The product does look nice.

All the products mentioned are really cool. I don't know how useful these buzzers and bells would be... for me. All these visual effects make me go . I get distracted so easily. Once you learn the blind spots in your car, isn't it just as easy to turn your head and look around?

Seems as if you've already thought of all of the .... ahmmm...angles already, RK. Gosh ... how long has it been since any of ya'll have played in the back seat of a car (or truck!) lately?

My truck came with one. It also came with removable third row seats that are great for parking. GPS’s are great once you figure out the idiosyncrasies of them. For instance, if I have to turn left at a road that has a median it will tell me to go straight and then to turn left. Of course at first, I missed many, many left turns. They also tend to favor freeway or interstates over surface or back roads even though the freeway route is longer so you still need a map for road trips or for areas of town you are not familiar with.

In a slight thread hijack, buy a GPS to be a GPS. Buy a radar detector to avoid speeding tickets. Escort used to be the best (and hey a good name on this forum!) but Valentine One is a better device.

Avoiding radar for 30 years, the past 16 with a Valentine One.

I think it became legal at the very end of 1990 or very start of 1991. The Connecticut legislator had passed a bill legalizing it and Governer O'Neill yet again vetoed it; as an outgoing present to O'Neill the legislature overrode his veto just before he left office in January of 1991.

And a good thing, too. I am not going to slow down so I better protect myself from revenue enhancement (enhance the State and the evil insurance companies. Especially the one with the slimy lizard (they are as slimy as that lizard), with a radar detector.

I'm curious SR. I also am a fast driver, but have been an escort man for years. I don't want to get in an argument about that...I'm not changing and am not trying to change you.

But my curiosity is about jammers. Have you ever used one? I've just never really talked with someone who has, and wonder how well they work.

			Dear RK,

What I really like about the V1 is the directional notices. The arrows shows you where the garbage radar is coming from (door openers like at Home Depot or a super market). No instant on and you are the only car on the road you're done for. But it is the sneaky locals hiding at a down hill or otherwise I like to protect myself from. In the Interstates, the V1 does a good job on picking up micro blasts of a laser or radar gun. What does suck is the Infiniti cruise control that is "smart" and uses laser to adjust the distance between cars. Lots of false positives from those cars. But the V1 is a great overall device. I rely on it. It is worth the extra change for it.

Yep, I used the V1 for quite a while...and the direction indicators was a nice feature. But I always felt like I got more reach with the escorts. Admittedly, it is probably like a preference of blue or green...some folks like blue...others green.

I understand what you say about cruise control. I only use cruise control if I'm just gonna cruise...and generally do that at the border of 10 miles over. But if I'm really making tracks, I like the feel of my foot on the pedal...and hands on the wheel. Its funny, I like my seat back very upright...the seat closer than most folks to the steering wheel...and I ain't much for conversation while driving. If your gonna be driving at 100, or 110, for long periods, one needs to be attuned to what is going on...lol.

I really don't use 'em in town...mainly just keep my head about me...and I've got a local fixer that can keep any slip ups off my record. But that rarely happens. I haven't had a ticket that stuck in over 10 years. Might cost a little $$...but it makes me look so pure.
