The one jury I served on, and happen to be the foreman of, we had an assault case presented to us. Two brothers ended up attacking a bully. THe bully filed the charges. We decided the bully had the tables turned on him and he reaped what he had been sewing. He was a sorry assed bastard who got punked and the world is a better place for it. NOT GUILTY!

I agree with Elisabeth (usually do). Hate pimps, but the parents had sooooo many other options rather than offing the bastard. I get it: no one wants to see, or think about, their daughter in short skirts and slut pumps humping in back seats or seedy hotels for some parasite. But laws matter. The parents are now finding that out. In any case, they shouldn't have been so sloppy. But emotions run high.

If this gets to a trial, the plaintiffs will argue the law, while th defendants will argue the facts.

The verdict will be rendered by what jury is most favorable to either argument.

She was 17. In many eyes she was an adult, fully able to make her own decisions about what path to follow with her life but who knows how long this cretin had been around her, how he met her, what he was doing to her once she was in his stable.

To speculate as to why she ran away without knowing what sort of bullshit dreams and lies were being spoon fed into her brain by this pimp when news stories here in Dallas have recounted instances very recently where minors have been lured away with promises. Not that long ago, a girl was lured away to California with a promise of a free trip to Disneyland only to find out once there that she was going to have to be a prostitute for the pimp. THAT happens more than you know. Hell, one pimp with girls on this site loves going to small East Texas town strip clubs flashing cash and luring girls to the big cities and once she leaves town with him and his bottom bitch, WHAM, she's on the circuit of heading out of state to places like Tennessee where fresh new meat is sold like oil futures.

According to reports this was not the parents first time in trying to kill the pimp. I understand pimps to some are scum of the earth, but what about abusive husbands, pedophiles, rapists I get it folks are cheering the parents on however look at aftermath. There is a good chance both may do time and what happens to the daughter. Taking matters into your own hands is not the way to go.

Once again, I sincerely appreciate what you wrote, Thatdude. It does parrot my feelings on the matter. The daughter is already damaged, obviously. I'll repeat, it's a sad situation all around.

Daughter is with other family members at the moment. We don't know the entire story, but when the parents went to try to get their daughter back maybe the pimp attacked them or followed them?

We don't know, but why in the hell was the pimp two blocks from the parents house? That leads me to believe the pimp went there for not nice reasons. He was from LA, not San Fran, no reason other then to do something bad to be two blocks away from the parents.

While I agree the full story hasn't been presented to us, but I am more likely to believe upstanding individuals than a pimp. I agree that murder is wrong, but I just don't see this as being a clear cut case for murder.

All life has value and while I'm sure the pimp was special to someone, I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I found out some gang banger was pimping my precious little girl up and down sunset. They obviously tried doing things the legitimate way first and got no help.
