Ok, I had a client that I really liked.... when we saw each other it was instant sparks, we got to a point of "seeing" each other....... but it ended (jealous type) then I noticed that I was the only provider that he would not review!!!! Well guess what? Today he used me a referrence!!!!! Now what is your take on that?

He probably didn't review you because if you guys had something else going on, as in a special connection, he probably wanted to keep you to himself. Guys have many reasons for reviewing or not reviewing.

Using you as a referece isn't a bad thing. We all take screening very seriously, and he knew you would give him a 'OK' -- you really don't have a right to be upset about that. Thats how this whole reference system works. Also, guys like variety...it's inevitable that they are going to see other providers.

You say it ended because of jealousy, but here you are posting about him using you as a referece, which comes across like you're the jealous one for him choosing to see other girls.

It's dangerous to get too close to anyone in this business, you have to draw a line at some point before feelings get involved.

I agree with Jamie that he probably wants to keep you to himself if the two of you crossed professional boundaries. Developing feelings is not uncommon. Chemistry happens & that is beyond our control. What we do with those feelings is what is important. Acting on them is almost always going to end in a train wreak. My vote is to simply provide the requested reference, & move on. He may even be trying to make you jealous. Whatever his intentions, this is a dramatic episode you can most certainly live without.

If he's was "seeing" you, then he wouldn't have been sell that his review was objective.

You can give the reference or not. You can see the reference as doing a service for your peer providers by helping them screen and stay safe, or you can see it as helping him get laid by someone else... Though if you two are split, it should be business, not jealousy and using each other.
