A food stamp poll!
They say politics is all about your pocket book. Well let's see what's motivating board members to stake out their respective positions on the food stamp issue! You can vote for more than one selection. Ladies, if you take food stamps, this is a great place to let people know!

Great poll Tiny. I would venture to s a y that there are probably more of your #1 choice on here who get SNAP benefits.
Also I do have a very good friend who is a regional manager for Walmart. He said that not only will they be having turkey's at great pricing but that they also made a deal with Tyson foods. Apparently there is an overabundance of ROOSTER'S so they bought several truckload to make rotisserie chickens for those who can't afford a turkey.

Whatever disagreement these two asshole parties have with each other, they should at least be able to put their egos aside for their constituents to do the right thing because there is no "winning" here when people are running around hungry. And if you want to let that happen, stop fucking taxing me well over 6 figures a year while helpless kids will be going without the bare necessities to survive.
By the way, I hate to break it to you MAGAs, but Democrats are hardly the only ones on food stamps like your clueless master instructs you to believe.

I think Tiny is taking what I said in another thread way out of context at a lame attempt at humor. I assume he knows that I meant that as much as I pay in taxes that I expect to not see people walking around hungry and if so, don't tax me so damn much or tax me at all if the government is going to do that with all of the stupid shit they spend our tax dollars on. I'd rather my tax dollars go to Americans in need than having it sent to Argentina.
I don't know how the fuck you can get that I'd rather have food stamps than pay a lot in taxes like Tiny did. Hell, I love money. I've busted my ass in school and work to never have to worry about money. I'd starve my damn self before I'd choose food over money. Can you add an option on this poll for me to choose from so I can be realistic?
Oh, and Tiny, I would not be complaining at all if it was exactly $100K I paid in taxes. Haha

All you guys throw humor. Usually bad and off target.
I remember a hotel maid that turned down a potential promotion to shift supervisor cause the pay increase would put her over the income limit for food stamps. This was a few decades ago, when the income limits were different.

This was just an attempt at humor gentlemen. I imagine there aren’t very many board members using SNAP benefits. You need plenty of disposable income to see providers, and the women here do pretty well.
Like I said in another thread, I don’t necessarily think SNAP is a bad idea, especially when it helps the youngest among us. If we could drastically reduce childhood poverty that would go a long way towards making the USA a place where everyone had a shot at the American dream. By the side of all the corporate welfare and waste and money that’s just flushed down the drain by our federal government, maybe SNAP’s not so bad. As with most other things though, it would make sense to shift more of the funding and the work to distribute the aid to state and local governments. That would reduce waste, fraud and abuse and improve efficiency.
And yeah, there must be people out there getting benefits who shouldn’t. One out of eight people in America are now on this program. You read about increasing numbers of young men who stay home with Mom and Dad and don’t even look for work. I know some myself, along with a couple of women. Society and their families need to give them a good kick in the ass. They’ll be happier and more self reliant for it.

Food security is a key indicator of future success.
Childhood food security is a strong indicator of a successful future, as it is linked to better health, improved academic performance, and enhanced social skills. Children who have consistent access to nutritious food are more likely to thrive in school and beyond.

It can be done better if the goal is to make sure people aren’t starving. Weekly/monthly pickup/delivery of staples so people don’t starve is how I’d do it, rather than a debit card and thousands of dollars a month for pepsi and pop tarts.
If you’ve been to a Walmart lately it’s pretty easy to see that the average snap user is about 300 pounds. A little fasting is exactly what they need.

That's a very interesting idea. The drawback would be that you'd have to create a new distribution system for the staples. You'd definitely want to do it at the local and state level, because the federal government would screw it up.
Maybe tightening up requirements so that you can't get things like Pepsi, Pop Tarts, chips and candy would be a good idea. Encourage people to get healthier food. And no steak and lobster. Make it where the beneficiary gets an especially good deal on items like dry beans, although admittedly that might create a black market in beans. Back in the day this might have been hard to administer, but with modern POS systems it would be easy. Or at least every time I try to buy a six pack of Busch on a Sunday morning the lights go off at the register.

Use a better example of taxpayer money being wasted, Luke.
Tiny already pointed out in another thread that we are NOT spending US taxpayer money in Argentina. We merely set up a Central Bank currency swap line.

Unless the deal blows up, the Treasury makes money.
