The Government shutdown will end soon.

President Trump just called for Republicans to initiate the NUCLEAR OPTION.

 What Is the "Nuclear Option"?

In the Senate, the "nuclear option" refers to a procedural maneuver where the majority party unilaterally changes Senate rules—typically by a simple majority vote (51 votes, or 50 with the Vice President as tiebreaker)—to lower or eliminate the 60-vote threshold required to end debate (cloture) on most legislation. This effectively kills the filibuster for the targeted bills, allowing passage with just 51 votes. The term "nuclear" highlights its explosive potential to reshape Senate dynamics, as it could lead to tit-for-tat retaliation when power shifts.

This will immediately End the shutdown swiftly, restoring SNAP benefits and federal services (e.g., national parks, IRS processing) while scoring political points

Pay close attention… as soon as this happens, Democrats will Decry it AUTHORITARIAN and vow revenge in 2027. Despite the fact both parties have done this same exact thing in the past. Watch it happen.

AUTHORITARIAN indeed.

The Democrats will never regain power. The illegals will be gone and elections will be cleaned up. They’re dead.

President Trump:

"When you talk about SNAP, you're talking about largely Democrats. I'm president. I want to help Democrats and Republicans.

But when you're talking about SNAP, it's largely Democrats. They're hurting their own people."

I might actually save a few bucks by going to Walmart if snap is discontinued. That place is currently nothing but the dregs of society, there was a gunfight in the closest one to crib a few years ago. It’s a shame Target isn’t full service groceries, usually lots of yummy mommies shopping there.

So SNAP has officially ended today, the first time in history since the program was established.

We’re about to witness a bunch of entitled, lazy, and stupid people do the dumbest shit at Walmart’s nationwide.

The judges order doesn’t supersede the law. If other departments aren’t fully funded they can’t rob Peter to pay Paul. Mebbe one of Trumps billionaire friends will step up. At least Trump is trying everything he can. Can’t be said for the people you support

^^^ Anecdotal, lame argument.

For all practical purposes, Covid has been drastically curtailed. It's now akin to this season's flu virus.

So let's end those damn extra ACA subsidies, just as the Dems intended when they voted for them to expire at the end of this year!

Yeah, Gristle, TDox and Eye conveniently forget it was the Dems who voted for the subsidies to expire. Now they want to claw them back. BTW, I wonder how many boosters Gristle took? Or if he still wears a mask?

Unless the Democrats agree to do things only as Republicans want them to - that's why they're not voting yes on a continuing resolution. Plain and simple.

A CR vote with no mods does fund SNAP and other items under the existing GOP budget, it does nothing for other equally important items such as ACA subsidies for AMERICANS. One is not uniquely different or separate from the other when the GOP won't even come to the table.
Wow! You're the one contorting the meaning of plain English, eye.

A Continuing Resolution just funds the federal government along its current trajectory. Once you start demanding course corrections or changes in current funding levels, then by definition it's no longer a clean CR.

The Senate Dems under Chucky Schumer are 100% responsible for the shutdown. Over the past 5 weeks, they have used the Senate filibuster to block 13 Continuing Resolutions, any one of which would have reopened the federal government.

Every single Senate Republican (along with 2 Dems and one "Independent") keeps voting to reopen.

Here's a Senate vote tally chart to make it clearer for you, eye:
