2025 is really turning into a bad year for Tennessee farmers. Goddamn.

The green really comes from taking a byproduct they can now sell that they were letting others dispose of for them.

That's capitalism masquerading as green

In the meantime they have other byproducts that might help out a bit but won't cover the gap. There's a pile of change and fuckery so that you can find things to like and to hate here.

Essentially this is JDaniels distillery telling local farmers to fuck off of siallage for cow consumption.. Tennessee state reps told that...one of the topics I hope to delve into on Tuesday. I do not have a list of those subsidies with me, but I imagine there will be some form of help available.

There’s also the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP). It’s a cost share program for farmers. Qualifying producers can sign up between October 1-7 for help with things like hay equipment, hay storage, livestock equipment, and more.

Uh guess what. Non of that is getting a pass , certainly with Congress out of session and the government on hold. Funny how the symbiosis is state and Federal government are capable of working together, yet good old Tenna folks can just folk off due to JD's lack of empathy.

Now who does that sound like? Martha Blackburn. That lying cunt!!? Or is it from old Mitch Mc douchebag himself. I'd love to send these tow fuckwads back with that around their necks.

A state that sells bourbon, horses, natural gas, and live stock. In the words of the great song singer meatloaf...2 out 3 ain't bad. You all will be fucked like a duck on Christmas if you wait for assistance from the 47 administration. It's not coming. Neither is any repair to roads and other promised infrastructure. Already paid for, but never gonna be used for better roads, Internet or support to lower income families.

That strikes me funny. These ppl are about the most agreeable and believable sorts, and pumping them up and crushing dreams is all the administration has. No full rounds is sustainable information will happen here. Not o the next 4 yrs. You voted for an idiot and he is going to let his lemmings tell you why. But roads and cow money are NOT ON THE WAY. LUCKY IF YOU ARE ABLE TO KEEP LIGHTS PN SKD ANSENSR OF A DEPARTMENT. ITS A WHOLE SHHIT SHOW OF MIDDLEMAN AMERICAN. MEANTIME, THE NATIOANAL GUARD WILL TELL You You're out of bounds. Fun fun fun .

Lets see.

Farmers have increased their cattle production in the region because they were getting subsidized feed stock from Jack Daniels for the last four decades or so.

According to the most recent USDA data, 89% of the farms in Moore County are livestock operations.

Electricity prices have been going up across the country since 2020.

Residential electricity rates have risen fast across the US—more than 30 percent on average since 2020 and almost double the rate of inflation in the past year—with no end in sight.
A biogas plant started in 2022 and set to be completed in 2024 or 2025 will start producing natural gas from Jack Daniels corn slop byproducts and become profit producing rather than a waste product. This is nothing but capitalism at work.

Sounds like sour grapes from the farmers to me. They have had a pretty good deal for almost a half century. Considering the price of beef right now I’m not sure why they should be bitching about this.

QUACK QUACK.

And so did the cost of your steak, and likely the cost of your JD.

Costs incurred to build the infrastructure, with bribes all around.

If it pays back great, but to bankrupt locals AND fuck your customers is how corporations make a profit.

Fuck the poor man, always have, always will.

Jack Daniels management first notified farmers that the program was going to end back in 2022.

Jack Daniel’s discontinues Cow Feeder Program
Jack Daniel’s first alerted farmers in 2022 that the program was going to end.
Published: Sep. 30, 2025 at 3:17 PM CDT

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. (WSMV) - A spokesperson with Jack Daniel’s has confirmed that the company’s Cow Feeder Program is being discontinued in 2026.

Jack Daniel’s will be transitioning to a new, long-term sustainability solution as the program ends on March 31, 2026.

“This decision follows years of careful consideration and was communicated with advance notice, starting with our initial announcement back in March 2022,” the company said.

“This evolution is driven by a partnership with Three Rivers Energy that allows us to achieve key environmental standards and secure the future of our brand, ensuring our continued ability to market and sell Jack Daniel’s globally.”

Jack Daniel’s said its new anaerobic digester facility will require a consistent, high volume of the spent grain.

“Specifically, we are contractually obligated to provide between 350,000 and 500,000 gallons of spent distiller’s grain per day,” the company said. “This commitment necessitates the redirection of all our current volume of ‘slop,’ which is why we must respectfully sunset the Cow Feeder Program for our local farmers.”

In the past, local farmers would use the byproduct to feed their cattle.

“We understand this change is significant, and we remain dedicated to our neighbors as we all adapt to this new era,” Jack Daniel’s added.

if their sustainability and profitability were subsidized for 45 years by Jack Daniels corn slop it means they weren't profitable and sustainable in the first place

TX, yes they did start the communication process early. Some folks are just stubborn and hoped it wouldn't happen. Sadly, they're getting whacked with the impact while also bearing the impacts of Trump tariffs. Those who didn't diversify or don't have the cash flow to will suffer

Tough being in Ag right now.

Considering she has nothing to do with this, no power and no say... not sure why you really care enough to mention her

She gave up on the whole global warming thing. The new cause is supporting people who consider women less valuable than their goats.
