Actually, you're incorrect. Kimmel's audience had decreased 45% since January.
His viewership has been averaging about 125k, in the key demo,which is less than most YouTube videos.
The truth is, broadcast TV is going the way of the 8-track player. Late night TV is mostly irrelevant. It is hardly watched by the key 18-49 demo. Of the late night shows, Kimmel's ratings are consistently the lowest. Sounds like Disney has been looking for the perfect excuse to pull the show, because all it does is lose money, just like Colbert. This is Disney's attempt to stop hemorrhaging money.

Two of the major ABC station owners were going to pull Kimmel's hate speech off the air anyway.

ABC avoided their own people committing treason, by dropping their coverage, and likely going back to show the 3 Stooges during Kimmel's time slot.

Suspect Anibal Hernandez-santana was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building and negligent discharge of a firearm, Sacramento County Jail records show.

The motive "remains under investigation," the Sacramento Police Department said, crediting the FBI with assisting in the investigation.
