Also, that's not a lot of tariffs to come off. Mostly symbolic, so don't throw a party yet.
Most of tsriffs and duties are already set by the USMCA and those pretty much remain, plus the additional tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos remain. The Buy Canadian boycott remains. Our booze still isn't on their shelves like it was. And they're still not spending their tourist dollars here.

Even america's department store- WalMart has declared that prices are on the rise- and not just a little bit. Imagine if you can, ( not just worrying about yourselves) where those who live paycheck to paycheck and have a walmart charge card- they run that sucker to the max, and only paydown on the balance to buy next weeks goods. That's a giant kick in the teeth to these folks. They are not sophisticated ppl, and they don't understand anything about tariffs or why the shitty camo gear they bought that was made in china, now costs 20% more. They just buy it.

Mainstreet america loses- because if all the money is spent at one place who imports goods and passes along those tariffs, that means the total dollars available for spending on other things like domestic stores, pizza shops, fishing, hunting, or other outings, have LESS dollars available to spend. Let alone the tightening of economic belts in everyday homes when the see the bottom line getting closer that it's ever been at the end of the month.

I've worked with many people who made more money than me and still lived paycheck to paycheck. These people refused to put money in company retirement plans, not even to get the company match. They also went on several family vacations a year and purchased new cars every few years regardless of how upside down they were on them.

How does it relate to any of the subjects on spend- or are you just trying to normalize that poverty is subjective and that ppl spend all their dollars despite what they take home?
In relation to tariffs' I'd suggest that this type of spending adversly affects all AMERICANS, especially lower income folks. In no world do I give a pass for people who are too stupid to save any money that isn't already reserved for the bare-necessities, like those impoverished and the poor have to do. Imgagine a widow whos' on minimal social security- @1100 dollars.
You add a 20% tariffs onto that- and increases in electric and gas costs- and top it off with greedy fuckers= and pretty soon your 1100 is more like 900 dollars. Already stuck at the bottom of the income brackets, but then you find out she got it at 62, and was on medicaid- and got removed from it- oh boy!!!
Imagine having a SS check come in and its only by a food bank at the church or the city you get a few extras- cause food stamps have been cut back, medical coverages have been cut back, and now you add STUPID TARIFFS on top!!!????
