actually you could go one step further. It's not about anything but hatred for brown and gay people. They all think Jesus was a white guy who walked across the water- and was a blue eyed almost Elvis'ey kinda guy.
They hate that women can vote or get an education- NONE of them have stood up on this platform or said anything about a single brown person as being good unless you call someones avatar of Clarence Thomas a raving review of approval.
Likely it's because Thomas is more like his maga followers, but with more melanin. - He votes and acts like the same racial skewed audience of MAGA so much, that even HE married a white lady.
But back to the members here clapping for one of the women of congress or lack thereof:
When was the last time you heard that MTG, or Elise Stefanick was anything cept a shoe in for a trump appointment till she wasn't??
Or that Joni Ernst was a great orator or statesmen-when she's not telling people about dying?
Or that awesome Katie Britt's breathy response to the state of the union?
One gal they don't mind and seem to give a pass on being the SORTA out-of-the-closet fella is Lady G- Lindsay Graham- but he's still a trump fan- so "merica". (surprising)
I'd even expect a casual reply about Candace Owens- but even she's gotten the cold shoulder. Nobody wants uppity Candace either.
The last time the GOP had any inclusion was when Trump said "Buy a Tesler- I did". Then Musk was golden boy instead of JUST the recipient of billions of dollars in US grants and subsidies. But - hey he deserved them cause he only scammed the immigration system a little; sorta like Melania did with her Einstein visa. Plus Elmo and and DJT are buddies, till they weren't. I guess even useless white guys who donate 250 million to get you elected are only useful idiots till they aren't useful anymore- or suggest you're in a manifest with others of a forbidden topic.
The diversity of this crowd is more about what brand of Camo you wearing this weekend vs. diversity of thought or inclusion of anyone who doesn't live right next door or is related. The only equity they are interested in, is on their house value, or a stock investment. None of it goes towards consideration of how people are hired, or the process of reviewing applicants without BIAS; despite the deck being stacked based on % alone 3 to 1.
The deck is stacked and we want to keep it that way.
Oh well. If DJT told them DEI is woke- and that woke means bad, and that bud light was the devil....they would believe it. Good lemmings. gooood little lemmings.

And you deny that there is a racial component.
When you are in the hospital do you want the most qualified staff or the most diverse?

Bad example. Many, many of the best doctors on earth are not white.

You're starting with a fallacy. You can have both. In fact, if I want a solid second opinion having a lack of group think and homogeneity could be to my benefit.
DEI doesn't require that non-qualified people are hired. It strives to improve the slate of qualified talent so that the cream can rise to the top.
It's not about tokenism. If it is, then everyone involved is being done a disservice. That's where you're going astray

Such ridiculous strawmen in this thread, like anyone is against accommodating veterans or disabled or yada yada. Everyone (apparently excluding some in this thread) knows exactly what the problem people have with DEI is, and it’s not about wheelchair ramps. It’s about lowering standards in the name of diversity (aka racism/misandry).

That's not DEI, J. I know you want it to be, but it's not... and it's not going anywhere.

That's not what DEI is at all, but there's no convincing some folks.

If we left things to the old boys network the standard would be male and white.

Hogwash. Been inside a hospital lately? The standard is brown or yellow and female, and that’s great because it became that way organically, even in the face of flagrant grad school admissions discrimination. If a particular race or gender has the aptitude and motivation to dominate an industry, so be it. Seeding it with the less qualified for the sake of “diversity” is to the detriment of everyone involved, including the seeded.

Clearly, it is. Props to Sec Hegseth for attempting to root it out of the military, but that’s just a start.

Nah, it's not. I can see that it won't stop you from scapegoating though so you can use DEI as a boogeyman. There's room for you in the tent of inclusivity as well.

Only male, and only white. As if today's white males are the best at anything.
Maybe crying about being treated unfairly. They're the best at that by a country mile.

Then what is it called when more qualified Asians and Caucasians are discriminated against, loosing admissions or hiring status due to the color of their skin? I’m fine with straight up racism if you want to rebrand DEI, since that’s what it is at its core.

There's DEI and racism masquerading as DEI. You haven't figured out the difference yet

I don’t agree with your statement in the link. Small nuances may exist, but it doesn’t change what’s at the heart of the matter. Don’t be afraid to call a spade a spade, if people don’t like honesty it’s a them problem.
