It's the Trump administration goal. 1,000,000 deportations in a year carried out by the government.
And you admit if they only hit 1/2 of the goal, it will STILL be a new ICE deportation record.
Have you never heard the expression - "Shoot for the moon, and if you miss, you'll land among the stars"!

I've already made that argument... multiple times in this very thread. Try to pay attention. Here it is again. Are you finally agreeing?

So if Trump's deportation numbers over the next 4 years lag behind Obama and/or Biden, that can be a result of his SUCCESS in securing the border. You insult our intelligence by portraying it as a failure, especially when we're only 130 days in.
The moon would be the 15 million that Trump mentioned on the campaign trail.
Your argument still lacks the Secure Communities logic. You'll want that. It addresses something you keep getting close to putting your finger on and then meander away from.
Btw, if he was doing as good as you want to believe he is he wouldn't have pulled this move
BREAKING: The Supreme Court limits Judges' power on nationwide injunctions, limiting Judges Ability to Block Executive actions across the U.S. with broad orders.
This decision stems from President Trump’s birthright citizenship order, reduces judicial overreach, allowing policies to proceed unless specifically challenged by affected parties.
This will MAJORLY streamline Trump’s agenda on immigration and other issues easier deportations!
Which means you're going to see an increase in class-action.
And they're coming. These are what should be pursued anyway. They didn't rule on the merits of birthright citizenship, but that hasn't stopped Trump from pretending that they did.
An astute take on what touting self-deportations signals.

The emphasis on self-deportation is clearly a recognition by the administration that they can’t really accomplish what they’ve promised, says Alexandra Filindra, professor of political science and psychology at the University of Illinois in Chicago. “It’s way too costly to identify, arrest, process and deport large numbers of immigrants, especially when there are so many court fights and so many organizations that are willing to support the rights of immigrants.”
Filindra says Trump is trying to take the cheap route, hoping his performative politics – everything from the widespread Ice raids across the US to sending the national guard to Los Angeles – will get people to pack up their own accord
A secure border like we’ve seen under Trump’s 2nd term eliminates the need to deport by not intentionally letting illegals in and is part of a comprehensive deportation strategy.
